Wade will do a full official update soon, but I figured I would post some of what I have now, as the tour was awesome, with fantastic lighting, and plenty to look at.

The footers for the turnaround

This is the high portion of the turnaround.  Look at how steep the banking on the turn is going to be.

Hard at work on the bents, two teams are each working nine hours a day to get the job done.  They assemble the bents on the ground first, and then hoist then into place.

This is standing under the third hill.  The pathway to the bridge will be opened back up and will be right here.

Just a nice shot of the lift, first drop, and second hill.

A shot I will never again have the chance of getting, looking up at the first drop.  That drop looks even steeper in person.

Again, another shot I will not get a chance at again, this time El Toro's infield.

The maze of footers for El Toro's in field romp next to Rolling Thunder.

Well, that is all I have right now.  I will post a full report in the near furture.  For now, you can see all of the photos here:

Thanks Nate... because I'm really freaking tired and won't get around to posting mine until tomorrow lol.

Friday, 5:30-11:15... got home at 12:30am (glad we didn't bring the kids)

Saturday, 2:30-8:15... got home around 10PM.  I think today was the longest we have had the kids in the park ever.  It was a great day!

Notes from the tour:
-Bridge will be used this year!! Guests will walk under El Toro towards the bridge making easier access for everyone!

-El Toro will load from one side and unload from the other side.

-There is soooo many headchoppers in this ride, you just gotta see this thing up close!

-They are shooting for a memorial weekend opening!

How do you guys get a tour  ?

Great Adventure usually handles these things on a "who you know" basis.  Today was a spur of the moment special tour though.  It was really put together, well, yesterday.

The tour was incredible!  A special thanks goes out to Ron, Al, Kristin, and Angel for making time for us to drop on by!  It was great to be right up next to the drop and see the sheer magnitude of El Toro.  The coaster itself is comming along great, but I heard from the Dippin Dots guy that there are a lot of nice suprises comming our way, and all the kinks are getting worked out ;)

The tour was great and there is a lot more to come from the park, and hopefully a big boom every few hours over in the west :)

The management is doing everything that they can to address all of the problems of the guests, and this year expect to see a MAJOR turnaround.

The thing that I really appreciated is that after the tour, I was one of the first to leave because I had to run to work, and I turned back around for a second and I saw Ron and Al (GM and Construction Manager) stopping and just admireing a show.  It's great that they get out of the office and walk around the park so they know what is going wrong on a first hand basis.  The park is getting better....fast!

Thanks Nick for that pic, it is awesome. I really hope they light this ride up good. In that pic it sort of looks like Mean Streak at night, the golden supports lit up. I think mix a great lighting scheme for the ride with that lake and we will have one beautiful looking ride at night.

Colossos trains:

Balder's:

http://www.themeparkreview.com/photos/liseberg/balder.htm

So, no.  I don't think they are the same....Then again, Colossos (and Balder) are not in New Jersey.  Note the differences between, say, Top Thrill Dragster's trains and Kingda Ka's (though I, for one, much prefer the latter's)

Yep
with the steep drop  and the banking and yes NJ
I would be cool if they had Nitro style lapbars

I hate the  use of both seat belts and lapbars,
like J2 ( the last wooden coaster built in NJ )
but J2 is one awesome ride and EL Toro will follow 10 fold

lets hope El Toro doesn't have both

Oh yeah, forgot to point this out. This is the bull behind the fence in the other direction. This bull will be in the queue, in the entrance or somewhere on El Toro.

I thought that Al said something about the bull was going to be placed in the middle of a circle type of path with like shading around it and the queue entrance being directly behind it.  Forgive me if I am mistaken.

This coaster is more massive than you can imagine.  I just couldn't stop saying "wow" when standing right there in the infield.  It is truely incredible.
