I was updating the park events for the rest of the year today and came across this:
Hurricane Harbor Pirate Day
Ahoy me hearties! On the twelfh day of September in the year two thousand nine, best gather ye shipmates and set course for Six Flags Hurricane Harrrrbor for it be Pirate Day! Signal NJSpecialEvents@sixflags.com with yer worries. Yo ho ho and a bottle of spring water! Discount hotel packages available - call or click 1-800-HOLIDAY and ask for the Six Flags Special Event rate!
So it's a week off from International Talk Like A Pirate Day (http://www.talklikeapirate.com/), so I don't know if it's related or not. And the water park is open that weekend suprisingly.
So is this just some random thing? Or is Six Flags actually planning something unique?
Anyone with more information let us know!

I don't know what they're doing. They've never been open later than labor day from what I remember. It's probably something to generate some good PR before next year
