Title: Kingda Ka Ride Status Discussion
Post by: coasterbruce01 on May 23, 2009, 09:29:47 AM: I heard the other day from some coaster enthusiasts that Kingda Ka was having issues again. I'm curious if this was true or not ?

Thanks. I plan to be there for Coaster Celebration. Hopefully they have it fixed by Coaster Celebration.

I know the park works on it 24/7 but sometimes it's just the luck of the draw if you're at the park when it opens. Come down for El Toro , that alone will make it worth the trip! Good luck.

I hate being Negative about Kingda Ka, so please go to the park and enjoy everything else and forget Ka even exist.

Post by: mich17mak on June 29, 2009, 12:57:13 AM: I called (SFGA) to see how long they expect KK to be down and the person on the phone with me said it'll take another 2 weeks (so it miiiight reopen the 2nd week of July, but there is no set date of coarse). Who knows if he knew what he was talking about. I got a few rides on it June 12th (it wasn't running all morning, but later in the afternoon it was running on and off)...
Although it's a bummer to come to SFGA from far away and not be able to ride KK, there are some other great rides (like El Toro) that make the trip worth it.

oh, and for me the sadiest part is i just hit that 54' mark 2 days before i FOUND OUT IT WAS GOING!!! :headbash: :headbash: :headbash:

Oh and sorry overlord, i did uses the search engine and found answers but i think i found my information from a reliable sourse ( please don't lock it)

Anyway, kingda ka should be back open soon. I wouldn't even be responding to this thread if there was even a chance of it leaving the park.

Unless when you start typing you don't notice that you are typing inside the quote itself. Just let me know if it keeps happening or you need any more help :)

This is my estimate of the Future of Kingda Ka:
1. Ka opens next season after major rehab. 2. Ka opens for two weeks and then is closed for maintnence. 3. Kingda Ka opens for another month. 4. Ka gets srtuck by lightening. 5. Ka remains closed for season. 6. Six Flags sells Kingda Ka for some extra cash, without publicity. 6. Kingda Ka moves to a sister park. 7. That park has problems and sells it. 8. In a year, the next park takes it down. 9. After 20 years, Ka is forgoten. The End. :headbash:

They were supposed to start testing the coaster yesterday according to a man in the station, but I never saw it testing.
