The government has auto safety regulated to death yet tens of thousands still die each year from auto accidents. How many people die or are seriously injured in amusement ride related accidents each year? The 2 numbers don't even come close to each other. especially when you take into account how many people drive cars every year as opposed to how many ride amusement rides every year  ::).

You know what, maybe the auto industry show be required to put OTSRs in all cars, trucks. and suv's (except Jeeps). And at the same time have an interlock that prevents the car from starting until you bring the OTSR down into the closed position. The release button would be tied into the ignition system so if you tried to unlock it while on the road, it wouldn't until the cars was stopped and turned off. Maybe that will reduce auto accident fatalities? ::)
