Kingda Ka is open once again!!
That is all.
-
is kingda ka really open
-
Yes
-
and it wilol be opening all weekend
-
Here comes the lightning storms to close it again.
-
Ken is Mr. Optimism today LOL
-
I am very happy that they worked so hard to get Ka open again.
Now the weather isn't going to cooperate to have it open.
God forbid it gets struck again, but those were some interesting storms!
-
The ones moving through Willow Grove right now are even better!
-
It was great to be on ka again. despite the very short line saturday, it had a lot of mechanical issues with the movable track for the 2 sides of the station to reach the launch area. The one train had issues sticking on the end of the brake run too, very slowly would it reach the station. Avg wait about an hour. I hope it stays up and the rest of the kinks are fixed.
-
They were having weather related issues yesterday that had a little bit to do with that. We should see most of that go away in the coming days. I'm just glad to see that they still ran it between all the storms and rain we had yesterday!
Thanks for the report to :).
-
I think it might be a slightly improved Kingda Ka too.
On my one ride before the storms appeared the launch seemed much smoother.
On a side note the Fireworks will be tonight (Sunday).
If it rains again they will be Monday night.
-
im still so socked it opened
-
is it open or down again
-
Kingda Ka is running just fine!
-
Holy crap it is amazing.... Now I just got to get to SFGA.
-
I'm going today Ill see if I can try to tell you the status.
-
It was open.
-
So I heard the GREAT news that the king finally reopened I am planning on going saturday and there is some rain in the forecast I just hope it holds out I plan on getting there when the gates open and riding it first I have never rode it but have been waiting for like three yeats now
was there any rain the day u went Steve and if so how long do the usually shut it down for
-
is it true the lanch hurts ur lungs?
-
Ka was open and running Monday perfectly fine
-
I got the Flah Pass Gold so I got on Ka twice even if it did close 2 1/2 times. ;)
-
Does it hurt? I want to know before I go on?
[[Please use proper grammar and punctuation as everyone here is not 12 years old and doesn't understand AIM talk. It is in the board guidelines when you signed up. Thank you for your consideration.]]

Not really but dont lean forward when you launch. When it says armsdown head back hold ond put you head on the head rest so there is no space between the back of your head and the seat. or else your head will be whacked into the seat. Also in my oppinion the orange train is the smoothest. Good Luck!
-
Thanks im still nerious but ill do it.
-
Glad to help. Don't be too nervous its over before it starts.
-
thanks one more question how many Gs does kinda ka have during the launch.
-
Are they going to tear it down at the end of the year though? I heard Universal Orlando Wanted it
-
i hope not
-
Omg!!! I have to ride it if they Tore it Down!!!!! Now way!
I hope they don't!
Its what makes Great Adventure such a great adventure!! :)
-
there not tore it down
-
It is not going ANYWHERE
-
ur pain threshold dependson if it hurts imo, but id be more worried about a bug or something like that hitting u at 128 mph then the ride itself causing you any pain lol. i always ride front ride arms up the whole way
-
So if anyone can help me out if you are in that area i am planning on going to sfga on saturday ive seen many different weather forecasts from just clouds to a fifty percent chance of rain i just really wanna know if it is worth heading out cuz its like a three hour drive any info is appreciated ive rode everything there except the king and i cant wait anymore
-
Are they going to tear it down at the end of the year though? I heard Universal Orlando Wanted it
I heard if they do install it in Universal, they are going to add Maverick's inline roll to the end of the launch track.
-
I heard that too! Apparently they want to "plus" it similarly to Medusa/Bizarro. It's the same track gauge so it will work! All they have to do is paint the rest of the track red and they can advertise the ride as the all new "Superman Ride of Steel" coaster next year!
-
You guys are cruel LOL. I thought it was going to Japan???
-
The Japanese are too smart to spend money on it :)
-
I heard that they were going to answer the complaints about the lack of a light package by adding more airplane beacons. Wack.
-
Wait they are ....selling it?
-
just considering it
Oh and just the launch is about 2 Gs
-
there selling it???
-
No. We are just making jokes. Don't worry. Even if they wanted to, I doubt anyone would buy it ;)
-
Stranger things have happened... like Silverwood buying Deja Vu.
-

Don't get me started on the lack of lighting on that thing.

Ha Ha Ha To much to worry about. but then again, I would buy it :)
-
needs more lights, like spotlights, and strobe lights, and twinkle lights, and regular lights
-
Is it just me or was it bad luck? When I went on KK the bar around my thigh tightens
-
The pull up does that.
-
Oh ok because I had a dead leg the rest of the day haha.
-
I will be heading up tomorrow or friday to ride KINGDA KA. I'm so happy its back up and running.
-
Aren't they doing a ride exchange?
Univeral gets Ka and we get Rockit.
-
Rode Kingda Ka and El Toro 5 times each yesterday!!!
-
