So is there deffinately going to be a Clementon Meetup Monday? I will go if anyone else goes.
-
As long as Hellcat is open I'll be there
I will check the day of and report here and by phone/txt
-
Honestly guys hellcat has yet to even begin testing with the trims on there. I dont think its going to be ready for monday and definitly not tomorrow.
-
That stinks
they had all year to get this done for opening and memorial day weekend with perfect weather.
I would think the new owners would want to make a great impression with the new park.
They will have the waterpark open but not the biggest ride in the park the Rollercoaster.
Alot of season pass holders are going to be pissed.like me
They dropped the ball on this one
rode by yesterday and yes they have a little tiny "toll booth" up for parking. it's a few hundred feet into the lot.

so he trims are only at the first drop ?
-
How can you not have your major ride not open?
I think I'll wait for reports that it is definitely open before venturing down to Clementon.
Charge for parking? Where did they get that idea from...
-
:( I really hope Hellcat is open. I've never been to Clementon and I was really looking forward to going...
-
Hellcat will not be open till NEXT weekend
so its not operating this weekend
I may head down and process my season pass and buy a paring pass :'( if I have time today and see whats up
-
How about getting some pictures since that is the title of the other thread :D lol
-
:( That sucks
-
Maybe I will go to Great Adventure Monday instead to try out my new camera.
-
Um...I was going to go tomorrow, but I guess not!
-
Hellcat tested a lot today, theyre really trying to get it open but I still highly doubt itll be open this weekend.

Did it look like it was running good / fast where are the trims ?
I was going to run down to the park today but decided to call first.
I called and asked about the coaster if it would be open, she said hold on and asked a
man in the background and he said not till next weekend.
SO it looks like more testing to be done.
but I will call again on Monday to see if it does open so the folks that are now riding The Voyage can ride it Monday ;)
-
on the first test.. it crawled. But after they greased up the track it looked like it was running just fine to me. It made the second hill no problem and it seemed to crash into the brakes just like it used to.
-
so the trims are on the first drop ? ONLY :'(
-
correct. They are only one the first drop. It honestly didnt seem to affect it all that badly of course, we havent rode it yet so. When I get to ride it, I'll let you know what its like.
...and hopefully that will be sometime this week before we reopen to the public.
-
Cool
I was so wanting to ride it today

Actualy it looked normal because the trims were not in use Friday during the test runs. We had consign come out today and the trims brakes now make the ride 5-6 seconds longer and they brake the train according to the last trains time. So if you have an empty train followed by a full train the full train will barely be trimmed but the train after that will be heavily trimmed. Since the trims are on the first hill its not possible to figure out how much to trim each train. Thats why they just use the train befores speed to determine it.
Hell Cat accelerometor test is completed. State needs to review that info then they will come out to inspect the ride. Earliest it can open is Thursday afternoon. The latest we expect to have it open is Saturday. However there is no guarantee that it will be open by then.
-
So has the park been busy this weekend? Why wasn't opening "Hellcat" a top priority this weekend? They had a full off season to get it ready. Why wait days before the relaunch of the park to add trims? Did the coaster fail inspection three weeks ago? Was there an inspection at all till yesterday ? I know the park needed a lot of work, but not having your main ride open seems pretty silly to me.
-
I rode by around 7:50pm and inside the park it looked crowed.
THe lot looked like it was clearing out.

I believe there were some unexpected delays during the instalation of the trim brakes. Up until 1 week ago Hell Cat was on schedule to open this weekend. The state has not inspected the ride yet.
-
Called the Park and the coaster is STILL being tested by the STATE
I was told this was the last ride to be tested (I guess because of the new trims).
she told me NEXT WEEK.
I asked to talk to someone in charge and was sent to the GM or whoever voice mail.
I told them I bought a season pass and was not happy that I can't even ride the main ride and that friends from out of state want to know when to book their trip.
I left my # >:(
so looks like another week. :'(
-
You tell him, Tom! I drove all the way from Iowa to ride Hell Cat (and live in PA)!
-
There was very little testing that had to be done. At this point a minor unexpected problem is holding us up. The problem is finding parts to fix the problem witch always seem to be on back order. If we had the parts we could have it ready for inspection within an hour.

Went in the park today for 25 minutes
got my pass done and coupon book . the season pass is a great deal with all the free and low cost coupons they give you. it pays for itself.
took a lot of pics will post them tomorrow
I did see the brakes on the 1st drop four of them looks like squeeze brakes or whatever they are called.
and the rest of the ride looks unchanged :D
this as we talked about before ( MATT ) is a good thing and I still think the coaster will do its job. ;D
I was really impressed with the back Hill picnic area Looks very nice its all blacktopped and Nice Landscape beds and shrubs and lots of new SOD/grass. gone is the dusty stone/dirt/gravel
My camera is in the truck so i will post pics in the late am.
the park looks alot smaller now with the new water structure taking up parts of the park.
I need to get in the water park
-
Always have a spare! ;)

You tell him, Tom! I drove all the way from Iowa to ride Hell Cat (and live in PA)!
I did get that phone call back from the GM David Dorman. :o
I asked him about the status of the coaster and he said its ready just waiting on the state to see if they need anything else if not it will open maybe Thursday or Friday.
I also mentioned I was with ACE and a long time local and many of us are waiting to ride the coaster.
I asked him what was done to the ride and he said
Brakes (trims) to slow it a bit and make it a more comfortable ride.only on the drop as noted in the photos.
some track work
He said he rode the coaster before the work was done and after and he said its much smoother even in the back seat.
He said it may be a little slower about 1 or 2 seconds but yes it was not good for the track the way it was.
But he said ITS STILL FAST just smoother :D.
I also asked about the Jack Rabbit location and he said no plans yet or at least nothing he could tell me. I told him to put in another coaster ;)
and as we all know he did work at many other Six Flags locations
-
try 4-5 seconds longer...
-
Sadly, 4-5 seconds longer is a HUGE deal. ::)
-
Sadly, 4-5 seconds longer is a HUGE deal. ::)
It is whe the old ride time from top of the lift to brakes was 39 seconds (38 when it was at its best) and now it does anywere from 43-45
-
That's what I meant. It IS a very significant slow-down. :'(
-
The State is riding / testing / inspecting the coaster today
So lets hope it gets its finale
-
They were kinda inspecting it. Its hard to explain, I was operating when they rode and they all had positive reactions. However nothing is officialy inspected yet. But if I had to put money on it I would say that Hell Cat opens tomorrow afternoon at some point.
-
Good news!
