Do I smell a road trip!  ;D

TIMBER RIPPER!  The coaster opens today, December 23rd!  Opening ceremony at 11 am!

The Timber Ripper is a four-season attraction that offers a scenic and exhilarating ride through alpine forests and along the contours of the mountain at Okemo's Jackson Gore. The roller-coaster ride, manufactured by Wiegand, features maintenance-free stainless steel tubular rails for a smooth run down the mountain. Sled-like cars carry two passengers in comfort but can be handled easily by one alone. The riders are in control of the speed and this gives them a unique hands-on experience, encouraging repeat visits.

Guests will load and unload The Timber Ripper in the Jackson Gore base area, near the bottom of the Coleman Brook Express lift. The ride will start with a five-minute, 1,600-foot climb followed by a 375 vertical-foot descent along 3,100 feet of track that follows the contours of the mountain with added waves, camel backs, banking loops and a "twister" section, at speeds of up to 25 mph. At optimal efficiency, the mountain coaster will accommodate nearly 500 riders per hour and operate year round in most weather conditions.

 Rules & Pricing:

Driver:  $13
Rider: $9
Package rates for 3, 5 & 10 rides as well as group rates will also be available. Tickets may be purchased at Jackson Gore Resort Services.

Drivers must be 48" or taller to operate the sled and riders must be 36" or taller to ride. Maximum combined weight of both passengers cannot exceed 330 lbs.

Road trip for sure :D

Although it probably won't be nearly as good as the one in Park City, it's still much closer lol

Seems somewhat tame but it may be one of those things where it feels much faster when you are actually on it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjuaJEDW3QU#noexternalembed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjuaJEDW3QU#noexternalembed)

They certainly feel much faster than they are. And shaky camera work always makes a ride look slower.

I liked the Wisp coaster.  We went to go tubing, but they were full, so we did the coaster instead.

The Alvey's just happened to post a PTR of the Alpine coaster I did at Park City.  Now that I realize just how big that one is, I have a feeling every other Alpine Coaster will be a letdown for me since I did it like 10 times.  http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=979622#p979622 (http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=979622#p979622)

Anybody interested in a quick trip in two weeks?  I have a trip to SLC already booked for Jan 10th lol

Did I just ride the Park City Alpine Coaster with Kermit the Frog?
That lift is amazingly long!

I feel for you Wade.
Flying this time of the year requires a pocket full of patience..maybe two!

How long you going to be out there? I wish I could go out to Park City to hit up their slopes.

All next week.  Although I likely would only be able to hit the slopes on Monday because I'd only be free at night the rest of the week and there are only a few places that offer night skiing.

Last season I went to Snowbird.  Amazing :D
