So today is my last day of work, I'm actually here now. I haven't had a "last day of work" in over 6 years... it's kind of a cool/awkward feeling. I'm excited to be starting my new life soon. I'm also very excited to ride Boulder Dash for the first time since PPP weekend last year tomorrow! This post really has no true meaning, I just felt like sharing my excitement with you all. The Tuesday after PPP I'm driving down to Florida to put a deposit on an apartment and I have 4 job interviews lined up. I'm planning on moving down on the 13th (a Monday) with a stop at SFoG on Sunday the 12th. If anyone can make it to SFoG that day, feel free to call me! See some of you in a couple of days at Knoebels!!

I'm going to do everything in my power to stay there as long as humanly possible. If I need to get out of the state... I won't pick NJ as a rebound place... PA is much more likely.

I have a ongoing Universal annual pass (about the same price as SIX) and a place to stay on site
I will be down there in Jan or Feb and again in the spring to ride the new coaster.
But be safe on your drive and bring the sunblock :)

So I just spent about 4-5 days in Orlando looking for apartments and a job. Within 3 days, I got both. Some of you I've talked to already about where I'm living and working... but now that I'm home, I can show you where I'm living. I took quite a few pics of my apartment complex and the inside of the room.

I'm sticking with Wendy's for now. They made me a really generous offer, considering the pay rates in Florida, and I'm only taking a small pay cut compared to the $5,000 less a year I was prepared to be offered.

Congrats Rob. And really smart move doing it the way you did. Especially in this economy. It sucks spending so much money just to move but its worth it in the end. I'll be in Heathrow Florida in 2-3 weeks so I'll look you up. I may have a inside look at the Universal project during that trip to :D.

If I am not mistaken, the cost of living is Florida is MUCH cheaper then the NY Metro area, and maybe Philly, I am not sure. Glad to hear you got a job though!
Just wait till the holidays, its gonna be weird celebrating Christmas with palm trees and 80 degree weather.
Only downfall of Florida is the water is HORRIBLE!!!

Home ownership can still be tough down there because of insurance ect. after all of these hurricanes. However, rent, car insurance, and, well, most everything else is cheaper.
I have to agree though, the water SUCKS. My skin actually smelled like the water after taking showers at a Marriott last week. Somehow, Disney World resorts seem to have better water. I guess they have their own treatment systems?

If so that was where we stayed last year. A Very nice place!
But yes the water smelled like sulfur there too.
Hopefully you got a few laps around the lazy river.

I missed the bad water while I was in Vista Way. Maybe Disney pumps us some of their good water? LOL.
Matt, do you live like, right next to Disney? That looks like one of the complexes halfway between Vista Way and The Commons. Right over in the neighborhood of Queen Mary of the Universe Church.

^ RJ.... myself (being Rob) will be living about 10 minutes to the airport... its off of Semoran. Not too close to Disney, maybe 25 minutes.
I don't mind the water really, it's the same as when you are camping. They don't use city water down there, just well water.

I had thought they would use either Lake Ochechobee or the Everglades
I know South Florida gets there water right from underneath the rot swamp, thats why is has a nice yellow hue and makes sidewalks appear rusty...
In the Northeast we are lucky, we have Mountain water

THE PROBLEM
RUST STAINS on your property from irrigation water.
THE CAUSE
IRON dissolved in the ground water precipitates on surfaces.

Bubba is correct.
Most Irrigation is from non potable water sources such as lakes,irrigation pond or wells.sometimes you can see the pumps or pump houses on the side of these ponds.
Yes Iron will leave red stains on surfaces.
One good thing about high iron levels at least for lawns is that Iron makes the grass very green.
