Title: Robin is Rockin'
Post by: Cyclonic on April 08, 2007, 03:31:10 PM
Robin opened up today just before 2.  Seems to be running pretty well, it was a little slow coming back through the inversions though.

The reprofile?  Well, it is just blah.  You get some laterals and no airtime coming off of it.

Everything that was running was a walkon this morning, but the rides were very off and on, and Nitro and Batman did not open until I was leaving, El Toro was open early then closed.  I was evacted from RT after a power outage, but it was running very well.  I blame it on Darkridedan who was riding with me.  KK did not open while I was there.  Everything else was running.

You get good hang time coming backwards with a good pop of air backwards over the reprofiling.

All I can say is that it will be a more comfortable ride for me.

I believe the coming back slower is in proportion with the weather since the train should be going up the spike to about the same spot.

Well, I will miss the Zero-G roll as the ride will NEVER be the same again :(

As for Batman....Did they lay the new track down on it yet?

While it's definitely not as good as it used to be, I was pleasantly suprised by it.  It's still a really fun ride.

Can't wait for Batman!

So after almost 10 months on not riding Chiller, I finally grabbed three rides on it today. I don't care what people say, I still think it kicks butt, the hump is nowhere as good as the rolls but they still are fun. You do get a small pop or air going backwards and its near with the banked turn to the left and right. Anywho, I snapped some pictures of it..

I'm beginning to think the park is far smarter than many of us give them credit for.  Those of us who can normally visit only once each year, and were there opening weekend, now have a compelling reason to get back to a great adventure...

I rode it today. The "hump". It was...weird. It felt like Thunder Dolphin's trick track twords the end of the ride. You definately went a bit faster up the spike, and it seemed that the LIM's were pushing the train down. The "hump" backwards was better than fowards. And very smooth.
