Title: TR Dorney 5/28
Post by: coastersue on May 29, 2007, 04:17:14 PM
Our friends from New England decided to make a quick stop at Dorney on Monday since some of them needed credits there.  Since we know the park well, we met up with them to make sure they got on everything they wanted.  Just as I had promised them, they were able to ride every coaster in the park within the first hour.  Even though the park opens at 10, Dorney opens some of the rides near the entrance earlier as long as they're ready which is a really nice touch.  They were able to ride both Wild Mouse and Talon before the park was officially opened.  They easily rode all the coasters, the flat rides that they wanted, and had lunch before 1 pm when they had to hit the road.

Ride Count(for me)

Talon: 1
Steel Force: 1
Thunderhawk: 1
Zephyr Train: 1
Whip: 1
Bumper Cars: 1

Come get your Woodstock credit, Dan!  They had no problem with adults riding it.

You should check out the Zephyr next time you're at Dorney.  It's a very cozy ride.  We call it the claustrophobic train.  Of course everyone always has to comment that it sounds like Rolling Thunder.  :(

^ It seems it wasn't busy at all.  Most people who go to Dorney sit in the water park all day and ride coasters at night. If you really wanted to , you could be in and out in less then 2 hours.

Dorney very rarely gets crowded.  Wildwater Kingdom gets VERY crowded though.  They only time the rides seem to get long lines is after WWK closes for the night.

Not sure yet, but we might see you at Coaster Madness, Tom.  We actually might just go for the lunch and skip the ERT's.

I missed last year but 2 years ago  I went by myself (it was a Friday) and I did the AM ERT Lunch then a few more then left about 4pm  lines not bad.

I may bring some friends and maybe try the waterpark  its been about 15 years since I been in there.

But normally the AM ERT and the afternoon is all I needed  I'm not a big Hydra fan.

It was OK, but it was very hot out.  The night ERT also got cut short due to a thunderstorm.
