I went to the park to go to the 1986 gaints champ. event. I arrived at 9:30 went and waited for them to open the gate. So i decided to head towards nitro, i got to that side of the park and Nitro had not open or even tested. So i decide to go over to El Toro, i got in line for El Toro. 15 minutes later i was on the ride. The park was crowded in the morning but after the second storm it emptied out.

/\ Links not working?
-
I fixed the isssue, the links work now, sorry
-
The 4th pic in the first link of GASM... am I the only one who noticed a piece of track missing? I think it might be more than just "a wheel problem"... unless the wheels caused the track to fall apart ;D
-
from what ive heard they remoed that peice because of damage :'(
-
I assumed they found a stress fracture in that piece. I remember a few years back Viper had a similar size piece of rail missing at the beginning of the season. Let's hope it takes a short period of time to fix.

You didn't know that GASM is now a jumping coaster? They apparently wanted to put the 'Scream' back in 'Scream Machine'...
:P
-
Hahaha! That would be a horse of a different color! :D
-
Here is a picture that I was able to snag. Sorry that its kind of dark. I'm still getting use to my camera.

MRHSfalcon - nice TR (trying to stay on topic lol)
I have to admit that I can't remember the last time I did a open to close visit!
As for GASM, just be glad they do inspections, etc. Gadv really does keep a close watch on these rides for our safety. I really don't think this is a big deal. Trust me, GASM has had MANY welds over the years as well as many sections replaced. You just don't always see it during operating hours or even during the season so I guess it couldn't wait.
-
So are we looking at a repair weld or a brand new piece of track being made?
-
Looks new. The piece is unpainted and the last I saw it, the piece appeared not to be welded to the adjoining segments of track yet.
