I am going to say either the 30th of March like alot of other people or if rumors are true, I am going to guess Good Friday if its early enough in April.

^If anything it would be the 6th.

They almost ALWAYS start on a Friday, it makes no sense to start on a Saturday.

For the record, Great Adventure is one of the very few seasonal parks that opens on a Friday.  I always thought that was neat.  Still do! :)

The schedule just went up: Click for the Schedule (http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/ParkInfo/index.asp?date=4/3/2007)

Opening Day, Monday, April 2nd!

Weird seeing 10:30 and 11:00 AM opening so many days (like all Summer!)...and only two Friday Nights for Fright Fest... :o

there must be 10 different open and close times.
And it is disappointing to see only the end of May open daily
and No Fridays in Sept and OCT   ?
I see every Friday in Sept is a Private event  I hope for Season Pass and or Coasters after dark  ??
So Fright Feast will really be crowed this year with only Sat and Sunday open until the last 2 weeks.

ANyone (Wade) know what the
Friday Private parties in Sept are for  ?

Well I think April 8th or 27th or May 3rd and 4th is for the Dream Night promotion.

Your totally right about the weird scheduele this year. 10:30-10 for 75% of the summer? Boo!

Why 10:30?

A very different schedule from year's past.  The 1030 thing is interesting as is the reduced Fright Fest Schedule.  My favorite night was always the first Friday of Fright Fest.  There was never anyone there.  It is also odd that they are open for two weeks during the week in April, when they usually are only open one.  Not that I am complaining, I will take vacation days to be there most of them.  April can't come soon enough!

Very strange schedule as the Rise and Scream promotion states:

Quote
Monday through Thursday from June through August 2007, two heart-pounding coasters will open at 9 a.m. exclusively for Season Pass holders. Don?t miss a minute of the thrills ? buy your Season Pass today!

So 9:00-10:30 AM is 1 1/2 hours of ERT for season pass holders.  I was only expecting an hour.
I suppose that is an incentive for people to opt to buy a Season Pass!

And I always loved the early Fright Fest Fridays!!

NICE! 1.5 hours is more than I expected.

10:30 really is it a suprise to anyone ?? During the season the rides weren't really opening till 10:30 or later anyway. El Toro at points wasn't even opening until Noon . Maybe this will get the rides up and running before guests come into the park.  I won't even be able to go opening week we will be away visiting  Myrtle Beach. But now I can't wait for the season to start !!

Rise and scream for over an hour !!  :o Now that really would shock me. I do hope that the time for rise and scream doesn't change though maybe that will be at 9:30 now with the later opening . I really thought it was only an hour can we really believe it may be over an hour for 4 days a week??

They better not be opening the rides at 10:30 for Rise and Scream...

I almost forgot about the early opening I feel better now.
I can see the Days KK is the early opener it won't open until the park does.
But as long as I can get a few rides without heavy lines that would be good.
I wonder if they will announce in advance what coaster will be the early opener.
Lets see wake up early go to the park for 2-3-4 hours get home to get some work done
not to bad. This is good for you locals.
Any word if the Other Six Flags parks have a early opening  ?

Opening on a Monday? Strange...

But, maybe that means they will have a season pass event the weekend before?

On the two fridays that the park is open for frightfest the park is open fron 1pm-9pm. Why 9pm when the last two fridays are usually crowded.

You have to love the four days of early morning ert though!!

Like coastermom said, the 10:30 opening isn't such a bad thing.  Half of the coasters and most rides aren't open at 10am either.  As far as the Fright Fest fridays goes, yeah we all loved it, but it was dead and probably not worth it money wise for the park to be open.  It makes sense to me not to be open the first two Fridays.  The two Fridays it is open, well those times don't make much sense to me either, but we'll see.  The only major concern I have, that won't really affect any of us, is that the constant changing of opening times during the spring will confuse guests.  It's not a major issue but it may baffle some people.

It works for me, thats an extra 30 minutes of sleep, so i can leave the island at 9:45 and get there just when the gates open

1.5 Hours of Rise and Scream is awsome

The Friday night fright fest being axed is simply a matter of staffing - or lack there of.  It is to difficult to obtain enough seasonal workers that time of year.

That extra half hour will do wonders for them in terms of opening rides on time WITH the park opening along with having enough staff ready to go.  It will also help with the number of hours a week the under age crew works.  Each half hour adds up!

edit:  I should add as somebody else mentioned, Friday nights also weren't all that crowded to make it worth their while as well.

Coasterpete has a good point many ,many people who are not repeat guests or haven't visited in a while may be at the park for the opening thinking it is still at 10 AM . How many years has the park opened at 10? It seems like forever to me. It is slightly confusing looking at the new times I like the good old days of open at 10 close at 10. Easy to remember and most guests already knew these times.                                                                             Maybe this will also get more people into the safari ? I wonder if that will still open at 9 ? Has anyone looked yet?

Wade any count down till opening day yet??

Thats so late in the season...I like the early spring CAD but then again, it is kind of a waste early in the season seeing that the park is a SP holders dream. What about CC?

I would think this would be a factor for a LOT of people.  I thought Mr. Shapiro wanted to run a family friendly theme park chain.  This isn't a move in that direction, in my humble opinion (then again, neither was a roach eating contest...)
