Well, the day started off very wet. I went to school a bit worried, after my last class, my mom picked me up and we drove straight to GA. We got there at around 12:45pm, making perfect time. I'm not going to get into to detail. But we got at least 15 rides on Kingda Ka. There were 3 rollbacks, but none for us. The first 7 rides were in the rain. And for the few who rode in the front row (myself included) in the rain, we all know why they don't operate this ride with even the slightest amount of rain.

JR, Ira, Me, Brenda, and Adam. After this, the camera broke so there are no more pictures from me. But we ended up being finished at 7:15pm, over and hour than we were supposed to be there!
I also want to give a special thanks to Wade for getting me in, being I had no luck with ACE (I've learned to now check my e-mails more than once a day!)

Nice pictures Dainan. Glad somebody had a camera since I didn't have mine :) And fortunately I somehow managed to avoid nearly all of your photos lol
It was a fantastic day all things considered. And I really don't think enthusiasts across the country realize just how awesome of a park Gadv is. For being a corporate park, they truly do have amazing individuals that keep the place running that sincerely care (obviously, so do other corp parks!). The Kingda Ka crew (all 25 of them I think lol) are outstanding. Everybody from supes to ops to maintenance were professional, fun and courteous in what had to be some of the worst operating conditions that ride could ask for.
I for one am really looking forward to this show after knowing how deep they dove into the inner-workings of Ka. And the host Matt Rogers was actually very funny and approachable. It should be a great show.

AND YES, Ka in the front HURTS in the rain!!! Think of lots of razor blades slashing at your face. My lips are hurting just thinking about it lol

yes the front seat in the rain is like water acupuncture
luckily i had my safety glasses on which helped alot but my lips were numb for about 15 minutes ;D
And as Wade said thanks to all the great people at Great Adventure they made a dreary day into a "Sunny day" :P
ANd thanks to our NJ ACE reps. Adam and Bret you guys are ding a great job. Keep up the good work.
And the Discovery Channel crew and "David Blaine" ;) looks like they had just as much fun.

I was watching Really Big Things last night and just loved how Matt is in his own world. Everyone at this copper mine just looked at him like he was nuts, or maybe they just didn't understand english that well.
I can't wait to see how he interacted with the ride machanics at Kingda Ka. I'm sure there was lots of good stuff shot that day the we missed out on!

Were there camera people at the top of the tower for one of your rides? I always wondered if someone can be at the top while the ride is going. I really want to be at the top when a train goes over to see everyone's reactions. They should put a camera on the top so the people in line and in the station can watch, on small tv screens, everyone's faces at the top. It would also be cool if they had a webcam so you could watch the people go over the top hat from home.

Yes, they had a camera guy up there and on the launch while we were riding so it should allow for some amazing footage for the show. Of course, I missed out getting a seat during the part lol

I can see that GAdv crowd giving the camera bird as they crest Kingda Ka.
And given that it would be video...who know what they would think up.
I don't think it would get a PG rating!!
It is hard enough to get a clean El Toro picture.

The one place where they did have a video and I think they need to put one back is on Daredevil Dive. If people are paying for the experience of riding DD, most would would love a video documenting it. For some reason, Kodak decided not to shoot videos at DD when they took over the contract.

If I recall (after all the blood loss, who knows), the only girl riding in the front was with me and she had winter GLOVES on! So Bubs, how did those gloves work for you protecting your face and all? :D :D

I noticed on my ReplayTV that new episodes of "Really Big Things" are starting to air on the Science Channel. No Kingda Ka Episode yet but it looks like it might be soon! I'll keep watching the schedule.

I think I seen myself in black with my hands up

but besied that it was much shorter then i expected
since it was 1 of 3 segmantns on other big things.
But DID you see the MEDUSA HEAD I mean the Hydraulics and winch drum
that was crazy looking.
No wonder at the Original commercial shoot they had a hose blow that held us up for a few hours.

I have it on my replay TV
but i missed a few minutes near the end
i got a heavy downpour and my satellite when out for a few minutes (i will be installing bigger one soon)
and i was recording off a "different" reciver.
i can convert it over and post it for download in high quality
but not till maybe sunday or monday
edit: I'm importing what i have from my replay tv to my PC as i write this
will see if i can get it up :o scratch that last part
its 848mb in size

Oh geez, sorry guys. Thats what I get for rushing something right before leaving for vacation. I had to change the file name so that it didn't have spaces in it. I did that in the post but not on the actual server. It is good to go now.
