They wouldn't want to maintain it though.

Looks like a nifty little woodie. Hope it does well for them. :)

Wow that's smaller than Triple Hurricane. Hope it delivers better if it's ever built.

As much as I like Hellcat, THAT is the type of ride Clementon SHOULD have built.

I'm excited to see what this coaster will ride like. Looks like a perfect addition to the park. Is this definitely being built?

Not necessarily but hopefully.  The park must secure the necessary permits, which is never a given in Quassy's locale.

2 things,

GG wasn't proven in 2003, and S&S was probably a much cheaper alternative to intamin or CCI when it was still around.

Dont expect a coaster at clementon any time soon.

^ If Clementon built one more coaster I would go

Hell, import an old shuttle loop?

Any cost on this coaster   ?

If Clementon eventually did get a new coaster I'm sure it would be some type of steel small to midsize coaster New or used. It's sister park has a Relocated Vekoma triple looper (Zoomerang).

But this Quassy coaster looks like any park could use this size coaster.
Great for the whole family.
To bad we couldn't see a Jack Rabbit II down here in S. Jersey

Residents Raise Noise Concerns:

Quote
...In a letter to the commission, Dean and Linda Yimoyines, who have been living on Lake Quassapaug since 1984, told commissioners, "The park is an eyesore, an unwanted neighbor which continues to interfere with our right to quiet enjoyment... We implore you to stop inch-by-inch expansion of the park and to protect the rights and interests of the many adjoining and surrounding property owners." ...

Don't live next to a frickin' amusement park!

No sympathy for them.

The more I look at the layout, I think this is going to be a great ride and not just a meh family woodie like Sky Princess/Kingdom Coaster.

It's still smaller (length and Height) and only 3mph  faster than Triple Hurricane. I'm not sure what to think.  Maybe it will surprise me like Gasm  did last year at SFOG.  I also  understand you shouldn't  judge a ride by stats alone.

good read. Wooden Warrior is definitely putting Quassy on the map as a park to get to, at least if you are close enough, I always saw the exit for it whenever I would drive to Lake Compounce, but had no desire to stop, unless it was for a few credits. I am sure that now I will be stopping there because WW looks pretty fierce for its size.

Anyone else think one of these will be the next coaster at Holiday World? I just don't see any other possibilities. Steel just seems wrong, and any full sized woodies will just be pwnd by voyage for years to come. What about a wooden wild mouse?
Title: Re: Quassy wooden coaster layout
Post by: AV Matt on April 27, 2011, 01:12:05 PM
I think this type of woodie is a definite for Holiday World. In addition, I think a racing/dueling woodie of some type would be the only other woodie they ever need.

They need a steel coaster and one has been on their agenda for quite some time. Will Koch was looking for a steel launched looper with lap bars and a low rider height requirement. It's only a matter of time...

maybe another Cheetah Hunt? or even Manta at Sea World?

I know these are both Busch, but they make a good comparison...

Steel at holiday world just seems incorrect. I never thought of a racer... A racing mini GG would be fantastic. Maybe a racing woodie with interlocking wood loops. :P

Can you launch wooden coasters ;)

I'm pretty sure Will said somewhere they wouldn't be buying from Intamin ever again. ;)

Personally I'd like to see a clone of SFOG's Mind Bender (or something focussing on drops and terrain instead of inversions like Revolution (without all of the changes of course). I think someone like Premier or Zierer could manufacture a very close remake. Heck, they could even make it a launcher.

Yes, the Timberliners have been advertised as launch capable and inversion capable since the original press release. And even before that, S&S was toying with the idea of an air-launched woodie. And recently M&V was advertising a shuttle-woodie.

Hmmm, I like the sound of a racing Groupie with a 0-60 launch in 4 seconds....
