On a personal level, this hits a bit close to home for us. Hopefully things turn out alright but unfortunately, parks always seem to blame the person in charge even when they aren't at fault. On a positive note, I'm glad they are getting it done right and better yet, I'm glad they are building a custom ride that is like no other in the states. So I think it will be worth the wait :D.

Hmmm looks like I need to hit up these two parks when I am in Orlando this summer.
-
Dueling Dragons was alright. Everest was in construction when I was down there :/
The Mummy is awesome. As is Rock n Roller Coaster and the Hulk. So I agree.
-
Could this turn out to be the steel version of Flying Turns ?
-
:headbash: Yeah, more Knoebels talk!!!
;) ^^ Jerry, the 4 Florida coasters that I will ride only if dragged onto are their 4 top vote-getters and Hulk which I'd have to be drugged onto. The first coasters that popped into my mind were Scorpion and Windstorm! Living near Matt is affecting me. ;)

No love for montu, kumba and DD? Personally though, I have to agree with dan on hulk. Although I keep riding it over and over due to various business opportunities, I seriously don't think its that good after the first 7 seconds. Looking at the gp results I'd say everyone else disagrees lol

How did I know this would happen... when i went in late march it didn't look like it was going to be in time.
-
I was there in Early March when the "Loop" just started going up
So as long as its open on my next visit which will be after the opening date that's fine with me
-
^^ A magic eight ball? Agreed Tom , not like I was planning on riding any time soon. Just as long as it opens during the summer at some point.
-
November 21 is the next Space Mountain weekend. Hope it's open by then.
-
Right now they are only saying Winter 2009. So I'd say they are either shooting for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
The good news is that the TTA will be open by October right before we get there :D And one has to wonder if they updated any of the "futuristic" display windows lol

I managed to get a ride on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit last week, and that wasn't easy. This ride never opens with the park and can close at any time. It reminds me of the early Kingda Ka days!
We were having lunch at Mythos at IoA (which is excellent!) at around 2:00PM and I saw it start testing for the day.
So we ventured back over to Universal and were greeted to a 60 minute wait. The nice thing is there is no Express line right now.
I didn't experience any of the vibration issues I've read people were complaining about. Rockit is quite and smooth as glass. The music could be heard the the entire ride (no B&M roar to cover up move quotes here). My wife skipped the ride and got to watch me ride live on the televisions in the exit area (which she thought was pretty slick).
I really wanted to give it another ride but it did not open at all the second day we were there. The reliability of this ride really hurts my rating of this ride. Hopefully someday they will work out the kinks and get that moving loading platform working. Right now this ride just upsets people because of it's down time.
And who is the brilliant person who decided to use blacktop pavement in a theme park in Orlando? Universal Studios just gets way too hot!
-
What song did you pick ? Hopefully I can get my HRRR credit soon.
-
I picked Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger which actually went with the ride really well.
It was one of the few songs I wasn't blasted with in the ride queue for 60 minutes!
I didn't bother playing with any of the hidden songs. If I had a second ride I would given that a try.
-
Hidden songs?
-
They probably have Led Zeppelin in there somewhere.
-
Oh I have heard of the hidden songs. Don't you have to hold down the logo and you can get any song known to man-kind?
-
They might have "Thriller" in chinese. :D
-
B -mac they do have Led Zeppelin # 113 - Immigrant Song. Once on the train, hold the rockit logo for 5 seconds and then enter in the three digit code. As of now there are about 43 different ones people have found.
-
What's the code for The Tubes - "She's A Beauty"? ;)
-
Questions:
1)does it play random music if you don't press the button, or do you have to put the combo in?
2)did people find the ramones? Specifically, Blitzkrieg Bop?
-
What is the three digit code?
-
I'm confused ? Three digit code to what ? You need to guess, hence they are Hidden
To access the secret song list on the ride, press and hold down the Rockit logo for 5 seconds on the rider panel to bring up a keypad. Enter a 3 digit number to hear hidden tracks.

Here is a demo for you.

If only they had free iPod downloads...
-
* Mod Edit.
As cool as that sounds , we can't promote that type of behavior at the park. Sorry and Thanks for understanding.
