Six Flags Great Adventure has posted a new photo album (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150631602778513.389491.69421318512&type=1) to their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/sixflagsgreatadventure) that has SkyScreamer construction photos in it!
Here is one, but check out the rest at the link above!

I can't believe there just starting construction now.
-
^seriously, that is pathetic

Fair rides don't take long to install and test.
-
**Like Button**
That's the only way that this makes sense. I wish they wouldn't push it all the way to the limit of the off-season though.
-
Yes they don't take long to install, but with such a mild winter you would think they would actually be ahead of schedule and try to get this ready for opening.
-
I think they'll have the tower done but won't have much else added when the park opens, MAYBE they could be testing but even that's a longshot...
-
well finally
-
Yeah but there is still queue work and testing. Even if it doesn't take that much time I think starting 3 weeks before opening day makes no sense, especially with the warm weather this winter.
The thing that bothers me the most is that it seems like they are not even trying to have this ready for opening day, which I think all new rides should be.

Great Adventure never has their new rides ready to go Opening Day. They seem to aim more for Memorial Day when they start being open every day. Which stinks for all the people who like to go in the slow, quiet early season and generally try to avoid summer.
-
For a major addition I can see needing the extra time.
With the size of these additions there is no reason to not be ready by opening day.
It could have been a nice surprise we all know not to expect it.
-
All the windseekers where June/July openings. I realize there is less to the skyscreamers... How tall is this one? I must have missed it. 200-250?
-
Its 242. I know the Windseakers were having issues which delayed their opening to the summer.
-
New pictures are up! And yeah, this is not going to be ready for awhile. I wonder why they waited so long to start?

Unions? Who knows but nothing surprises me in NJ. We had one of the most mild winters on record and yet when I was there in the middle of Feb there was nearly no work done at all on any of the new attractions.
I don't believe it opens to the public until May 18th anyway so they do still have time.

It pays more to work overtime...

Ohhhhhhhh purty :)

That didn't take long to build the actual ride. Hopefully it will be up soon!

FlyinPhil's latest update puts the SkyScreamer height into a different perspective.

Surprisingly looks much taller from the air than from the few ground level photos I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing and thank you Phil for the shots.
