Coaster Celebration 2006!
« Reply #100 on: March 02, 2006, 01:38:20 PM »
Last year I only made the morning portion of it due to work.  I basically paid for parking, breakfast and a front row ride on Kingda Ka.  Now if you didn't wait for the front you could have easily gotten three laps in.  This year I plan to stay the whole day instead of just 2 hours.

With that said.  No, I didn't find the morning ERT that busy.

I was there all day.
They had donuts and little cups of juice for breakfast.  Morning ERT was pretty empty, but Kingda Ka was testing for about 45 minutes into the period.  I waited for it to open and wound up getting one front row ride at about 9:59, but the other morning ERT still had no crowds because the GP just mobbed Kingda Ka.  Rolling Thunder was racing that day too.
It then was a normal day until about 4 or 5 I think, when the buffet opened.  It was chicken with nachos and cheese if I remember correctly.  They had a raffle for merchandise and everyone got a Kingda Ka keychain.  Nighttime ERT started right at 8(attendent checked for wristbands at the entrance of the ride) and they had lights on for Skull Mountain.  Nitro had 3 trains so everyone could reride unless you wanted the front or something.  I stayed on for about a half hour.
I don't remember the daytime being particularly crowded, but it was in May last year as opposed to mid-June this year.
Still alive, contrary to popular belief.

/\ Well, I know I'm not going dude.

You are forgetting the other 2 bdays that day.  One turns 4 and the other turns 1.  I think we would both be dead for going to CC :(.

hmm.. that's a very good point, I guess I can't use the "it's my birthday too" excuse ;)  I knew that having a niece and nephew on my birthday would have it's drawbacks... it's a good thing they're both so dang cute  :)

Wellllllll.......

It is possible to come home during the break and go back lol

I know I had to do that one year.

Anyway, here are links the Coaster Celebration flyers.  Keep in mind that Kingda Ka WILL be added to the schedule.  These are early versions of the document and it will be updated at some point.  For now, this will still work to get you signed up :).

I want to attend but  the cost is a little unfair to season pass holders.
I'm not cheap but

- I just paid $40 for a parking pass and now I have to pay for parking again
- I just paid for a season pass
- Processing fee ??
I only been to the park once this season

I never did attend this event in the past and still debating on this year.
I will be going to Dorney's event (only $21) that includes ERT lunch etc. and I don't have a season pass for Dorney.
I'm a member of many other coaster clubs and this one event is the most costly.
But seeing that El Ttoro will be open I may be going this year.

Just to clear things up for you, if you have a parking pass, you DO NOT have to pay for parking.

$35 for season pass holders is not unfair, nearly all events charge something for pass holders.  The fee is basically because you are renting the rides for the hours of the ERT, and believe me, it costs a whole lot more to run those rides then you (or the collective whole for that matter) are paying, so you are getting a deal there.

Yes that is fair.  I was just mostly talking about the parking since I did just buy a pass.

One person says it's included, another person says it's not, so if I have to pay in advance. There is no selection on the form for NOT PAYING the parking fee.

Do not pay for it in advance.  When you get to the gate that morning, just show your parking pass like you would on any operating day.  I have gone to this event for several years now, and that is how it is done.

Is it on June 3rd or the 17th?  I just got an email saying the 17th of June.  I have never been to one of these.  Is there something I should know?  I would love to meet more people who love coasters as much as I do.

Well guys, I haven't registered Austin and I yet. I am probably not going to because my closing date of June 19th could possible end up being the 16th. That means I'll be working on moving :(

Not sure If I will make it a friend of mine turns 40 years old that weekend and not sure if he will be having a party down at his campground.
It seems like every year something comes up.

Is this a must register before the event, event? I was just thinking now I might just sign up because I want some more ET rides... and if the line for ET is too big, I'll just enjoy some KK... either way... is there on-site registration?

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

No On-Site registration, but people have reported that you can still register by phone. Call the park and ask!

Great news, word is the park has flipped the ERT schedule.  The Nitro side of the park is now on the morning ERT, and KK and El Toro will be on the night time ERT.

While I love Nitro at night, I can't wait for ET and KK night rides.
