Closed Wildwood 3/22/07 Photo TR
« on: March 23, 2007, 04:15:59 PM »
So in search of a new place to live, Melissa and I took a drive down to south Jersey, Dennis Township to be exact, about 20 minutes from Wildwood, NJ. After touring a few places, and getting some food, we decided to stop by the boardwalk, even though we knew EVERYTHING was closed. We parked down by the convention center, which obviously wasn't charging to park today, we were one of 2 cars in the entire lot.

There isn't much new stuff to note. We walked past Flipper's in hopes of it being open, but it's weekends only right now, and we are planning on going back this weekend to play since there's nothing else to do right now in NJ. The Screamin' Swing has wooden planks on it now, kind of strange, but OK. They were "gutting" a lot of the pizza places and putting in new equipment and whatnot. Den of Lost Thieves got some new, ugly, paint. There was also some ride testing going on too on Mariner's Landing pier. Here are some of the pics I took

That must be so creepy being alone on the boardwalk like that.

It's so weird actually seeing the boards! I never see them when I'm walking  :P

I love seeing the ferris wheel spinnning around in the winter.

Cape May County in the winter is extremly boring and deserted !

A few of my friends are starting their camping season next weekend so I may head down router 9
and do the April Wildwood visit and
Remember to always visit the FREE Cape May County Zoo.

I used to ride my old Bronco on the Wildwood beach in the winter   :o

Wildwood goes from having about 5000 residents in the winter to about 500,000 in the summer.
Look for more and bigger shows/concerts at the convention center this year.

this summer try para-sailing it's a blast.

Jesus lol

I hate how long the walk to the water is in Wildwood...that and the increasing Seaside-ish crowds are the only down falls of WW.

But it still is the best place to go to in Wildwood IMO...

Always a good time down there.

The walk is the best part of the beach.
It's fun, its a workout.Just load up a cooler. 8)
I also like it because the water is shallow for a few hundred feet(safe for kids).
We go down near the New convention center they have a walkway that runs halfway to the beach
with great views of Great White and indoor beach Bathrooms at the convention center.
They also have a outdoor Movie screen

Wildwood beach The best Place to play any activity like
Frisbee or Aerobie

Aerobie http://aerobie.com is like a Frisbee but you need a lot of space
it is the longest thrown object in history thrown more then 1330 feet (in Guinness World Record book)
and I had one years ago and the only place I could really use it to it's full potential was the wildwood beach. You can actually throw it more then halfway  to the boardwalk.
get one it's fun. but be prepared to run run run.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerobie

Sorry I love wildwood been going ever year since I was a baby and I get carried away.
ALso the beach is FREE - I refuse to pay for a beach after all the property taxes I pay in NJ.
and yes the coasters aren't to bad   ;)
