Much speculation and pictures has led to assumptions of ET not being ready to be opened for opening day. What do you think?

I'm going to say yes.  It will be ready VERY close to opening day if they don't make it.

The rest of the theming, and BBNP won't be ready though.

Well they got a long way to go to finish this coaster and only 3 months to get there. Let's see what they can do and maybe Wade will be correct. I say it is open by May 1st though.

2 months of construcion and all they have is the lift hill complete.  I have yet to see the entire site, so I do not know if most of the footers are poured and ground work complete.  If all the footers are ready, it could very well be ready for opening day, but they need mother nature on their side.

All of the footings except for the ones inside of RT are complete.  They RT infield footings will start shortly after the New Year.

The reason they are building in the direction of travel is:

1: If they didn't they would box themselves in.  The big cranes still need to make their way down to the turnaround, and building in any other way would not allow the cranes to get where they need to go.

2:  The materials are coming in that order, so they can only work with what they have anyway.

^^I agree. The end of April/early May is my guess. I'm thinking ET will be almost complete, and the "family" ride installed. They would still need to do touchups in PDC, and finish BBNP. Who knows, maybe they will decide to open PDC before BBNP.

Their not going to make an announcement till a few weeks before the season starts, so we might as well speculate on the information that we already know.

RJ...the order of construction is completely logical...they are kinda cut off with the river being on one side, and RT being on the other.  I think it's all just a matter of how fast they can get every bent and piece assembled and up.  We will see in the comming weeks if they have the momentum to finish in time.

We all got a great explanation of how construction on a coaster like this works first hand.. by rich one of the directors.  they go part by part so they have an easy time moving machinery and all that jazz.

It Is supposed to open by opening day.. it was scheduled to be complated and running then.. and i believe they are still on time.  We will see alot of track going up now that the lift is nearly completed.

Wade is right.. bugs and more of the theming for carnival will not be complated come opening day, but will probably make its debute simliar to how they did golden kingdom.  A soft opening walk through, and than a true opening.

Its about time they get a coaster operating by the park's opening day, they have missed the boat twice in a row now.

Well I forgot you guys went and they explained to you how their process works and how they go about constructing the roller coaster. Hopefully they get it up and running by opening day, which is really cool, but for some reason I just don't see it happening. They are calling for a brutal winter and we still have two months of winter left. We shall see what happens over these next 3 months, which become the longest three months.

Here's another crazy thought. What if E.T. isn't finished yet by opening day. Do they still open the path to get to Rolling Thunder? Or wait,  and open that whole section when it is completed?

Worst case scenario is Would they want to run Rolling Thunder while the Frame work is still going up in the Infield.

With all that said , it should be open before taxes are due.

indeed that may not be the best of situations.

But keep in mind that we have had a mild winter so far!  It hasent been so bad.  Sure it snowed but the lift hill is still up.

I dont think they will miss my too much.  They ight not miss opening day at all.

have faith people!

After all this discussion I think I change my opinion on ET being open for opening day. I think that somehow they will get it open for opening day because without open for April 1st will bring much hassle into the construction and testing and such.

I think ET will probally notbe open tilatleast april 15th but no later than May15th.
construction is going slow becouse the lift is the slowest part of construction, so thats why I think ET wont be ready by opening day....

I voted no, simply because I don't want them to rush any part of it. I will be happy when it opens, but I'm not counting on opening day. When things get rushed, then problems happen. I'd rather them get the entire package done,  themeing, testing, whatever else is involved, before I sit my bottom on those trains. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

All I have to say is that "It's all in the bents"  If they get those ready in time, then were in good shape.  It all depends how fast they get all the bents assembled and up.

My sources say that there is no chance for it to be ready for opening day.  And I dont think it was meant to be ready by then as well so ill guess it will be open around the beggining of may.

I won't offend you, but how reliable are your sources and how accurate have they been in the past. Not that I am not going to trust you, but people have come out of left field with sources that have nothing to do with the park whatsoever.

Lets just not get our hopes up for it to open on April 1st. Just think of it as a count down like a surprise. It will be sweeter like that.

Well, your "sources" are wrong lol.  How do I know this?  Easy.  Because the real answer is that NOBODY knows right now ;)

Unless you can predict the weather, deliveries being on time for parts, equipment reliability, well you get the idea...

All I was saying was what I was told by someone.

Anyway my dad was saying that when they build like any kind of construction project they have to have it all maped out like when everything is suppose to be done, who's doing what, etc. so I think SF does have a idea within a month of when it will be ready if all goes well.
