Jersey Bound
« on: August 02, 2007, 10:44:06 PM »

Hi Guys:

Me and Bob will be doing the Preservation Conference this weekend. If you want to meet up with us, we will be with the ACE group for a while. My plan is to hang with some of our close PA and NJ friends for a while on Saturday, then bail out for a little bit, maybe do a side trip , Clemeton Maybe, don't know yet. This is a play it by ear thing. We will be back for the after dinner things at GA.

I plan at one point during the weekend to wear my NJ 101.5 tee shirt , maybe Saturday. It's yellow, stands out like big bird, you can't miss me.

I hope that I can catch up with my freinds in NJ.

Bruce, I'll be there in the morning most likely. I'm not signed up for the event but will be there during regular hours to get some Toro rides in and see some people I haven't seen in too long, yourself and Bob included. I have to bail at 3:00-ish, but it should be a fun day nonethelss and I will keep you "abreast" about J2 being open at Clementon.

Have a safe trip down and back, see you Saturday most likely.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

Jersey Update

Bob and I made it down to New Jersey and home in one piece. We shoe horned in a quick visit to Seaside Heights, to both the Funtown pier and Casino Pier. The visit lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes, then we had to high tail it back to Freehold Gardens for registration for the event.

We arrived at GA for morning ERT on Nitro and Batman the ride, I did about 5 rides on Batman, and 3 on Nitro. We went over to the rope to the west side of the park, and I got to meet one of our newest members of Gadv Updates. I wish that I had some time chat with a fellow Massachusetts resident, but they dropped the rope and the cattle run for Kinda Ka and El Toro was on.

Got to the KK line, got into the station, and Ka went down. Two hours later the got it running. They did a great thing for those who waited for Ka, they gave us 2 rides in a row, then allowed us to get back into the que, and opened the line. I did El Toro later in the night, and got some pretty amazing night rides on KA, 10 to be exact, and they were in a row. What was really cool, I got Bob to ride KA 4 times during the event. All toll rides on Ka, 13. We did chant to the ride crew the words , Rollback, Rollback , Rollback, we wanted one. The ride crew on Ka was great, and I did make it a point during the luncheon to point out to the GM the great treatmeant that we received from the Ka crew. I told him that they went 150% over and above for the people that were in the ques for Ka when it broke down, and that was so great what they did. I told him that he should let the crew know that they did a great job.

Coney:

I got 3 rides on the Cyclone, and 5 rides on the Break Dance, and one ride on Top Spin. I will just say, Coney has to teach these other operators how to operate their Top Spins. I was truely enjoying Navaina on this ride. The way they opearted this Top Spin, made me so enjoy the ride, that I was bummed out when I had to leave the ride. I'm going to miss Astroland. I might have to try to justify a trip down there before end of season I can.

That's my update in a nutshell

Sunday. It was part of the Ace Preservation conference package. I found the drive home intresting , I went through a part of New York that I have never seen. I saw the NY Worlds Fair sight.

Ahh...I was up in NYC Friday night on top of the rock and it was something watching the fireworks from there.

That sounds like a great place to see the fireworks from.
