"Trains are scheduled to be placed May 15".

Says both trains are on the transfer track.

Latest update today -

May 20, 2006 El Toro trains were placed on the track this past week. We are currently going through the clearance envelope test and acceptance procedures for the train, track and structure. Mechanical work is coming to a finish on the lift. We are getting closer and closer to the ride opening.

May 28, 2006 It was a flurry of activity during the past week in Plaza del Carnaval, as team members prepared for the opening of the section on Saturday, 5/27. The merchandise department stocked the new El Mercado store with Mexican-themed and El Toro souvenir items, the landscape department planted dozens of tropical plants and shrubs to beautify the area, maintenance and ride operations tested and trained on Tango, the new family ride, and readied Rolling Thunder for its re-opening this season. Maintenance and park services cleaned up and washed away all the winter and construction residue, and left the newly-poured concrete bright and clean. Food service continues to work toward the opening of the newly-themed La Cocina restaurant.

The construction, maintenance and engineering departments continue to work toward the testing of El Toro, in preparation for the ride's grand opening...coming soon!
