Looking for a DSLR

I am looking into purchasing a DSLR camera for myself because I am going on some vacations coming up and would like to be able to take some amazing photographs. My choices I am looking at right now consist of the new Canon EOS Rebel XSi (either black or silver) and the Nikon D60 Lens Pack I found on NewEgg. I really want to get into shooting pics involving depth of field and all that good stuff. Can anyone help?
