my wish list for next year
« on: September 27, 2009, 12:57:18 AM »
1. A more permanent and beater themed motion simulator ride.
2. A respectable coaster that is 44 inches
3. Open old country to the public
4. Rehab batman (but still call it Batman)
5. Have a Batman show and a lake front show.
6. A drop tower were the batman car is
7. Close the xplurium and put an under construction sigh next the the chillers entrance and have guest talking, next year a fully remodeled, durable chiller comes along (just think how cool that would look the chillers colbra roll and upside down hump above the dark night)
8. A smoother GASM
9. A cool flat indoor ride were the rock climbing wall is
10. A  Ben and Jerry's in every section of the park.
11. HODINIS GREAT ESCAPE TO STAY OPEN PERMENENTLY
12. Reopen or replace tango
13. Me working at the games

Nice list, but a few things:
What do you mean by "more permanent motion simulator"?  That is a permanent structure.  I definitely agree with a better show though.

The Batmobile area is too small to support a drop tower, but there is a ready-to-go pad next to Granny's that would be perfect IMO, and I've been wanting one there for a while.  It already has a queue and utility shed!

GASM is what GASM is.  You can't just "smooth it out" because it's designed that way.  To make it smooth would mean that you're re-engineering the transitions, tearing down the ride, and re-building it.  Not happening.  Just gimmie a new coaster!

I agree with Tango.  Replace it with the return of Rodeo Stampede!  I also agree with Houdini.  It was a lot of fun to finally ride it again. :D

Rj's got a point with gasm. But a motion simulator with the same movie for a while will get boring. The spongebob one lasted like 4 years and at the forth year, there was no scenery with the queue and the line wasn't even 30 minutes long on a good day. So, everything will eventually get boring after a while and will eventually get replaced. Some will last longer than others.

That and the "hump" is called an inside top hat

Looking at the old Evolution site, the only issue I see is the queue is not big enough. After you put in the tower, it does not seem like there would be enough space for a large enough queue line. From all of the drop towers I have been to, I have seen giant queue lines to hold the guests from the midways.

That goes back to my put it in the stunt show arena idea.

The last "permanent" show in the arena was the Batman vs. Catwoman show I believe in 2006?

I remember the year after they had several different kind of shows in the arena but nothing permanent.

Keep the arena, put it where Stuntmans used to be.  How about that?  Plenty of room over there with all of that grass and the "closed area."

The evolution spot has enough room. They just couldn't use the existing queue. They could do the type of queue that wraps around the ride in a circle to save on space like drop zone. Personally, I think it would be awesome dropping through the canopy of trees with an awesome view vs seeing the administrative buildings and some shops ;).

After the Superman: Tower of Power incident at Kentucky Kingdom, I suspect it will be a very long time before Six Flags buys another INTAMIN drop ride, if ever.

Maybe for you.  Drop rides are the only thing that still truly gives me butterflies!  I hit Dominator every time I go to Dorney.

hmmm I know what you mean. Drop Towers do give you a bit more fear than most rides. I don't quite know how to explain what I mean. My home park has a DT and I probably only hit it up once a year. With a coaster you get a chance to forget the layout a bit, or some laps are better than others. But with DT's it's always the same. I don't think many ppl. do them twice in a day, nevermind twice in a row.

However I do agree they are still quite thrilling.
I've said before SFGA should have built one by now cuz the novilty has died consiterably in the past 10 years. Perhaps there is a next generation of DT's in store worth waiting for. For example 500 foot ones... or one that drops into the ground, stops there and capapolts you back from beneath. something like that. I just don't think they are worth 10ish million in todays world.
