We at Great Adventure Outpost want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. And also remind everyone that the first Saturday Night Lights of the season will take place tonight at 10PM!

Did that actually happen? I wasn't there. Almost looks like something straight out of a SciFi movie!

I know they shut the show down early, I guess that was why

It was really a miracle that nobody was hurt by that.

Yes that did happen.
Earlier in the show me and my wife thought we saw a shell misfire on the main barge.
A few minutes later what you see in that video happened and another shell landed right in front of the old ski show shack in the water and explode.
The show was stopped immediately!
My guess is the misfired shell knocked some of the mortars over.
Lets say I'm glad they didn't do the finale!

Amazing how everything gets caught on video these days!
Glad nobody seems to have gotten hurt as it didn't look good.

And as I said before..Move the barges out much much further please!
It will still be a good show from further away.

I don't think that they can move them back anymore than they did. Before I think Pyrotechnico wanted you to feel like you were IN the show...and last year you did. Bad idea. This year you feel like you're watching the show...except for that stray shell. It was strange. The person filming that was probably 5 rows of people ahead of me. Wasn't much of a freakout in the area, just like in the video.
Peep the concept, you've got progress, you've got congress

I agree about the difference from last year.
This year they only have 3 barges + the arch. It seemed like fewer fireworks, but maybe they are trying to limit the smoke factor.
And how much more in the show would you want to feel?  ;)
I'll judge it if/when I see the entire show.  They could be saving up for that finale.
