Great Wolf Lodge + More
« on: March 17, 2006, 10:57:41 PM »
Today, I heard a rumor that a Great Wolf Lodge as well as another hotel will be added near Great Adventure.  I'm not sure about how true this rumor is but I talked to someone at work who said he was affiliated with Jackson township in some way.  He said that both hotels will be placed off-site, and one will be seasonal and only be open when GADV is.  I didn't get any details, but rumor is that they will add a Great Wolf Lodge nearby.

Definetly sounds cool! But I thought they already said that the reason the Hotel was put on hold was to get park operations in order first.

I would love to see this sort of addition! We shall see though.

Unless the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge is a massive failure (so far it seems to be just the opposite) I don't see the park collaborating with GWL to build one of their hotels when SF can do it on their own. Unless Great Wolf will open a Lodge near, but not affiliated with, the park.

These hotels were said to be off-site and Six Flags has nothing to do with them.  I said to the person who gave me the information the same things, and there response was that the park is not in collaboration with Great Wolf or the other group adding a hotel nearby.

I personally think it was a terrible idea to delay the parks own hotel.  I feel as though if they are serious about turning the park into a restort like they plan, than they should be opening a hotel to feed the demand, instead of having a huuge park, with nowhere nice to stay.

I agree, but I agree more with the fact of getting the park operations in order before bringing in even more guests and marketing as a desination resort!

Actually, it will be refreshing to see.  15,000 more bodies on Fri, Sat and Sun isn't that big of a deal.  And thats if each and every person with a free pass shows up.  I always felt bad when they would open with all of that staff and try so hard to please and impress and only 2,000 people show up.  I think this will be good for all of us.

Back on topic, SFI might be better off doing the hotel on somebody elses dime.  However, allowing a competitor to come in and setup shop just down the road will hurt them.  I really hope they don't miss the bus here or we may never see the full potential of a on-site resort complex.
