That picture was taken today(so their update said). I also saw them working on it as well from GASM. The one crane is holding the spool of cable over the track near the station.

Glad the damage isn't severe.

As to the Intamin problem ... I don't think they are going anywhere. Sure there have been problems with KK, but most of the other recent Rocket Coasters have been running with no issues.

I don't think they will be doing anything bigger than KK though.

The era of Hydralic Launched strato coasters is done, nobody will waste money in those 400 ft. + rockets again, now the small rockets, they will keep being built, they are VERY reliable!

Compressed air is less complicated.
Did you ever see KK hydrulic room a lot of hoses to go bad etc.

A few gainsider's was in the park today 5-18
They are reporting seeing water dummies in KK seats and employess all other the place

I just wanted to say how nice it was that we didn't end up with 65 pages of speculation. Thanks everybody for keeping this thread clean and interesting.

It was my impression from day one that they didn't want Kingda Ka down during El Toros media day. This would have obviously been a unwanted distraction. Provided the repairs are good and it passes inspection, it should be re-opening REALLY soon.

^I think that has to do with the level of maturity on this site. It's remarkable really. I think we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and it's nice.

LOL yes I love how even on line people who are waiting to ride tell me these things and they are still in line to ride. If it were true, wouldn't you NOT want to ride and NOT be in line taking up space??? And didn't they lose arms too ??

Oh Yes! I too love the stories overheard while waiting on line for Kingda Ka.
Maybe we should start a thread to share some of them...

I've heard the "Money Rain" and "Gold Chain" stories. Who knows some of them may have happened.

I have seen that with the map and yes it is quite funny to see it float down from up there . Do you think they do it on purpose dropping a map ? Anyway if there is any progress please post it as we can't go to the park for two more weekends and are looking forward to KK's return hopefully before 6/3 !!

Ka is nearly ready to begin testing

IMO - people purposely let articles fly off at the top. It seems all to conveinient to have them come loose at 458' instead of during the launch lol

456' is the track. 458' is where the riders are, 2' above the track.
