Batman & Robin are currently closed

This is a direct statement from the park regarding yesterdays incident on Chiller and has been posted here with permission.  We will share more info as we get it.  PLEASE do not blow this out of proportion!

At approximately 12:15 p.m., a train on one of our coasters stopped
during its cycle.  The train was 8-10 feet above the ground with 20
passengers on board. Maintenance and safety personnel immediately
responded.  Within 15 min. all guests were unloaded from the ride. 

Our maintenance and engineering teams will conduct a thorough
investigation to determine exactly what caused the coaster to stop. All
safety systems functioned properly.

Has this ever happened before - No

The train sustained some damage, but our engineers are out there as we
speak conducting an investigation to determine exactly what caused the
coaster to stop.

The ride will remain shut down, we've notified the state and will keep
the ride closed until they have inspected the ride and cleared it to
open.

I am CERTAIN Great Adventure will, as it always does, do whatever is necessary to operate the rides safely.

Great Adventure is a fine park.  I agree.  This incident should not be blown out of proportion.

Wade, thanks for the official news. Being my favourite coaster at the park, it makes me sad but I hope they get it back up and running soon. Hopefully in time for Coaster Celebration.

Well, I guess on a positive note, at least they got Batman working again so it can reopen once Robin is out of the way

It was sad to walk by Chiller tonight and see it all wrapped up. It is wierd not to hear the loud noise from the train near it.

I do have a photo of the train covered in a big white tarp sitting in the valley but i do not know how to post it . I wasn't at the park until later in the day well after the incident happened and didn't even know about it till we went over to that side of the park after 8 pm.

We don't know what happened yet. I'm not going to jump to conclusions with this ride.

I honestly think that the only people that know are chiller ops and park mgt. But if its something this serious nothing can ever get out cause of legal issues. Guess we are just gonna have to wait. Hopefully we find out something soon.
