I was at the Taking back sunday/ Angels and Airwaves show last thursday, along with quite a few other people.  This was the first time Ive ever seen a few huge bands take a stop in Jackson NJ on a huge worldwide tour.. and I think it paid off.  I dont know the exact numbers, but it appeared as though the Northern Star was nearly filled to capacity.  I know I havent been around all 30 some years of the parks exsistence, but this is the most packed ihave ever seen the stadium.

Anywho, i found some footage of the show on youtube.com and i thought id share it with anyone else who was interested or who went to the show.  Post your thoughts and feelings here, and if someone knows how many people were in attendance, please let me know!

I remember seeing Ted Nugent on a 100 degree day now that was a crowd.
I also seen Heart there.
both back in the 80's when the park was a little more rowdy.

Those stands could be fuller.  The Freedom Concert sold out weeks ago, I saw it a few years ago when Charlie Danials was there, awesome event, and it was absolutley packed, every seat was filled.
The world is coming to an end, I've actually created a blog!

Thats just the picture i snapped when everyone was on thier way out.  I thought it was cool looking.  I have a few when the concert was actually taking place.  Im just saying, I have never seen it that packed.  I mean sure, charlie daniels probably draws a huge crowd of well, a different kind.. lol.  As far as like rock shows or whatever you want to call it go.. i think they should happen more often, this one was very successful.

^Nope! Got them the morning of. $25 upgrade ticket.

It felt as real of a concert as possible that GAdv couldv'e done. Between the moshing, crowd surfing and just rowdy crowd, it felt just like a real concert.

The crowd surfing was bad though. I saved about 5 kids from landing hard on the ground. Kids were being dropped all over.

Chilled, can you re-host those pics? They are mini-thumbnails.

I really liked that AVA (That's the real abbreviation for Angels & Airwaves) played a Blink song and a Box Car Racer song that flowed into one of their own songs.

i found Tom (AVA) to be the most pompous SOB ive seen perform in a long time. He thinks he is Jim Morrison up there. I didnt enjoy his performace at all. And dont get me started on TBS. Lets just say i didnt get the see their entire set. And now I have my license.

I love Head Automatica though, so their performace (though they got screwed out of time) went well.

They didnt get srewed.. its agreed that the opening acts get whatever time is alloted.  its normally between 30-45 minutes for an opener.  Dude, if you dont like a band, dont go see them.  Tom is a very cocky person, by reputation.  But I got a kick out of it.  And i dont really see why you had a problem with tbs.

um, im not sure why its coming up as a mini thumbnail but it looks normal to me.  photo bucket is just being gay.

AVA cd is absolutely terrible ! Blink should of stayed together or get back together. I'd rather have box car racer around than this sorry excuse for music. The only decent song on the album is the adventure and you can hear that song being killed on the radio every hour.  >:(

One question:  How is "AVA" the abbreviation for "Angels and Airwaves".  That's been bugging me since I saw the shirts the day of the concert.

From Wikipedia:
Angels and Airwaves' abbreviated name, AVA, is a partial reference to DeLonge's daughter, also named Ava. The abbreviation also, according to DeLonge, represents the band's initials with an inverted "A" in the middle. DeLonge has also stated that the inverted "A" stands for "Victory".

Wow. I absolutely love AVA's cd. Blink was getting so old with their mind numbingly stupid lyrics. This CD actually had meaning and the lyrics were powerful. Although I doubt AVA will get to Blink's status in terms of popularity, they are the superior band IMO.
