How was your 2006 season?
« on: December 20, 2006, 07:13:04 PM »
Well, 2006 was an amazing year for me! In the beginning of the year, I had 97 coasters and as of right now I end this year with 214. I boarded an airplane 3x(6x if you count round trip) to go to parks. I've been to seven new states this year, maybe more. I went to construction tours(Thanks Wade and Di!), media events(Thanks again!), been on AMAZING new wooden coasters(Toro, Voyage, Hades, Avalanche), AMAZING steel coasters(X, Xcellerator, Phantom's Revenge, Apollo's Chariot), met some awesome people, and had a blast!

New parks I went to this year:
-Disneyland
-Disney California Adventure
-Knott's Berry Farm
-Six Flags Magic Mountain
-Universal Studios Hollywood
-Myrtle Beach Pavilion
-Family Kingdom
-Paramount Kings Island
-Busch Gardens Williamsburg
-Paramount Kings Dominion
-Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
-Holiday World
-Indiana Beach
-Six Flags Great America
-Mt. Olympus
-Riverview Park
-Timber Falls
-Kennywood
-Knoebels(sorry Joe... :o )
-Astroland
-Ocean City Piers(Gillians Wonderland and the other one...)
-Rye Playland
-Beech Bend

And I think thats about it...

Chuck you forgot Beach Bend
Let see it was my biggest year even after being in ACE for 22 years.
I never really counted coasters but here are this years parks.
Midwest trip fly and rent car:
first visits
-Paramount Kings Island
-Beach Bend
--Holiday World
-Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
-Indiana Beach
-Six Flags Great America
would love to do the same trip without beach bend and maybe add the Dells to the end.
all above parks half price or free with season passes
-Great Adventure and all the ERT's and fun times
-SFNE (my first visit)and the Superman ACE event
-P:KD
-Wildwoods as always
-and CLementon park J2 as always since I only live about 2 miles away  :D

Parks I didn't make that I usually hit Hershey,Dorney,Bush Gardens VA.

2007 tentative plans/trips
-P:KD
-Bush Gardens VA. (a must)

-Lake Compounce/SFNE

-Cedar Point/Kennywood

-Paramount Kings Island
-Holiday World
-Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
-Indiana Beach

-Orlando parks
-plus all the local PA,NJ parks

As always I will try to hit the ACE/Coaster events for ERT's
Anyone interested to share the expense keep in contact towards the spring.
Most of the above parks will be free to get in with a Six Flags and Cedar fair pass  :D

Well, my 2006 was great, nothing compared to Chuck's 2006 but here are my totals and some highlights.

GAdv: 20
Dorney: 1
PKD: 1
BGE: 1
IOA: 1
Magic Kingdom: 4
EPCOT: 2
Animal Kingdom: 2
MGM Studios: 1
Blizzard Beach: 1
Typhoon Lagoon: 1

Timeline of highlights:
April 1st- 1st trip of the year to Great Adventure...a great day
April 13th- Paramount's Kings Dominion for the first time
April 14th- Busch Gardens Europe for the first time
May 5th- Coasters After Dark, was in line for front row during Ka's Big Breakdown. Actually Chuck, you were in front of me in line that night.
June 23rd- Dorney Park, an annual day-after-school ends tradition. Dodged a big rainstorm and got a lot of rides in
June 27th- First ride on El Toro, actually first 3 rides on El Toro. My life changed. ;D
July-Nine total trips to GAdv, inlcuding three in one week
August 11th-18th- Another trip to the Happiest Celebration on Earth, including first rides on Everest, first trip to IOA, and some more memories
September 9th- Trip to GAdv two days before school starts again
September 22nd- Family Fun Night. Where to start? Lines were sparse, tons of rides on Toro, met many people including our very own SilverBullet, and just an amazing night
October 22nd- Last trip of the year at GAdv, a very sad occasion but at the same time the most time spent at the park this year, from nearly opening to closing. I left sad but at the same time fulfilled at the end of my 20th trip of the year

All the way to Nepal and back in a tidy 3 minutes...Expedition Everest

This probably won't be complete because my memory sucks lol

Disney World in January, April, August, October and November.  I lost track of how many times to each park though.  I think the trips ranges from 4 days to 10 so depending on the visit, we probably hit each park between 10 and 15 times on each visit lol.

Gadv - How the hell do I know LOL  I lost track this season but it was A LOT.  Probably in the 30-40 visits range when you factor in the offseason stuff, media stuff, etc.

Lake Compounce - First time visit!

Knoebels - First time visit!

Islands of Adventure - 3 times including 1 private party :)

Universal Studios - 3 times including 1 private party and a behind the scenes tour of Halloween Horror Nights

Universal Studios - 2 times to Halloween Horror Nights

The highlight of my entire summer was finally getting to Wonderland in Amarillo, Texas!   That place rocks! Honest.

And I got back to Bell's in Tulsa.  Never knew it might be my last trip there.  Life's like that.

And for some reason, I went back to Magic Springs.  Was X open yet when I was there?  Why, of course not!
