Pcman?  What operating system are you using?

I run A dual boot.

XP sp2 pro  and  Vista Ultimate and sometimes i test some Linux Distros

But XP is still faster and more compatible with everything
the problem with Vista is its not compatible with everything and needs to much horsepower  to run.Try Vista on a Pentium 2 or P3 or P4 with 256mb ram and like a slideshow.Xp can run these older machines fine.
Whats the since in using a Operating system if it doesn't work
but it does have some nice features and the new service pack that comes out soon will make it better

try Ubuntu or
for older machines Xbuntu and Fluxbuntu all free
and the best thing about these and most Linux versions (or Distros as they call them)
you can run it off the CD to try it , runs in ram
I always carry a Copy incase I need to make a repair in a non booting Windows system.
its also like ERD commander

If you have a old Laptop or PC you can run a operating system as slow as a
386 486 Pentium cpu
8mb ram
50mb or no hard drive

Old PC try these Linux Distro, can run and fit on a small thumbdrive or CD
- Damn Small Linux - only 50mb
- Puppy Linux
- Tiny Linux

some Dam small Linux screen shots

Thanks!  I am not at interested in Vista at this point.  I, too, run XP Pro SP 2, but if this old thing died, I'd be mighty tempted by leopards. . .something about spirit of the tiger--apple of your eye..., you know...

In this area, Mickey D's must be really hurting them.  Wendy's is now selling a me-too chicken wrap and a $1 double cheeseburger!

Heh I have a dual monitor on my desk at home now. I have a 22 widescreen and 17 aspect. I love it so much. I just cant wait to build my new computer over the summer so I can do more stuff on it. I am going quad core since its really not that expensive and I know it will last me the next couple years...hopefully.

Intel in the first quarter of 2008 will be releasing the Penryn 4 core CPU
with an amazing 12mb of L2 cache. Equal to say a 12ghz to 16ghz cpu
I been using AMD for about 7 years now but Intel is just moving so fast.

So waiting till next summer you should be able to get a screamer.

The Q6600 quad core (Equal to a 12ghz) I just got for $279 was $570 just 3 months ago and this chip overclocks easily and stable to a cpu costing more then $900

I just bought now since I been waiting and looking for about 6 months and Have a to a ton of Old Film conversion. I have about 40 old Family films and older 8mm tapes to transfer.

just Google Penryn

I don't have a Slingshot but I have a Slingbox
