Comcast confirms we'll see the rollout of DOCSIS 3.0--the next-gen data over cable standard allowing bandwidth of 160Mbps down and 120Mbps up--starting next year, with 20 percent of its footprint expected to be blanketed in bandwidth goodness by the end of 2008. Even though Comcast isn't saying where it'll fall, markets where there's FiOS are probably going to continue having all of the fat pipe fortune--competition is good for people in those areas, bad for the rest of us. Now for the real bad news: more ?

FIOS ftw. I love it. I have no problem with it at all. And I get all of my speed.

What speed tier are you at ?
I would love to have the 30 Mbps down /15 Mbps up but at $139 a little steep

But they now have a upgraded new package at
15 Mbps downloads /15 Mbps uploads $64 this is just awesome for the upload speed

But I don't have FIOS in my area and not for another year.

But for those that have cable and have FIOS in the same area Comcast is boosting your speed
and for $10 more if its available you can get BLAST which is 16 Mbps download / 2 Mbps uploads and higher with speedboost.

Most comcast subscribers have 6 / 0.7

Maybe a year from now I will be surfing at 50/10 or whatever

I have the 20/5 package. I personally love it. What the hell do I need 15 upload for when half the servers up there limit me anyways? Innervision has the 10/2 package and thats still fast. There aren't many sites (if any) where I can push my 20 mbps to the limit.

Nice

Most people can get along with 768k DSL for surfing the net
but if transferring big files and controlling a remote PC which I do both of daily ( try FREE www.logmein.com )
I want as much speed as I can get 20/5 is very nice

THe max I can get in my area is 8mb and thats me paying $10 more a month it does boost to 14-18 at times with the speedboost they use.
But I bother them ever month on me getting the 16/2 Blast but still not ready in my area

I would take 15/15 over 20/5 but i have no choices in my area YET.

Fios TV may be the one thing to seperate us from our DirecTV Tivo. Best DVR EVER! Comcast completely blows around here. They advertise "up to" on nearly all bandwidth advertisements. Its so inconsistant that I gave up. From 5-7PM it was slower than DSL.

I have FIOS fiber strung all around my area.
Yet they fail to come down my street.
Friends at works say Verizon rased rates twice this past year for TV!

I have Dish Network with a ReplayTV just to avoid Comcast.
I'll be using that RelayTV until it no longer works.
Once you have that auto-commercial skip you can't do with out it.

Last night I watched El Orfunato. It's an import from Spain, and it was easily one of the scariest movies I've ever seen, and the ending is...suprising. I suggest everyone goes to see it when it comes out at the end of the month!

Oh give me a freaking break. Half the suspensions are due to the other players being idiots. How are you going to pull away from a check after committing and a guy falls to his knees at the same time? Why don't you go read up on hockey news there...

Don't get your panties in a bunch just because the Flyers are playing REAL hockey. The league and the other players are all just becoming wimps. The players don't even bother trying to avoid being hit in the hopes of suspending the other players now.

And the freaking penality shot just shows how lame NHL has become.
