Access to the Diner could be a problem. Good thing i know all the back roads around there, i'll be avoiding that intersection for a loooooong time.

Well, today was the last day Dinosaur Encounter was opened here at the Staten Island Zoo! I worked in there from 10:30-4:15 (it closes at 4). I got all choked up when I gave my final tour. I admit, I'm going to miss it. But, it turns out, the local news advertised the hell out of this, and it was packed! So we were working like crazy. Though I was by myself the last hour. I was not in a good mood either becaus people wouldn't behave. And I kept making announcments being serious but using a sarcastic tone by sayind, "For the safety of yourself, the people around you, and the dinosaurs, please don't lean, sit, climb over or under the chains! And do NOT touch the dinosaurs. You can fall and break the chains, dinosaurs and yourself! And I DONT feel like filling out accident reports!"...is it sad that I actually said that more than 5 times? And the chains got knocked down 4 times today! UGH! But, what ever, I will miss DE.

Sounds like "Please stay behind the yellow line.  PLEASE STAY BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE!" Then they keep crossing, and you station stopped the train every time thus far, so you hit it and walk away from the console till everyone looks confused. LOL.

GADVwow, sad what happens when people get way too drunk in public.

PATCO, SEPTA may team up for new rail service
« Reply #838 on: January 17, 2008, 02:19:37 PM »

For anyone that needs to get around on Mass transit

PATCO, SEPTA may team up for new rail service

PATCO's proposals to extend commuter rail service along the Philadelphia waterfront could mean a new partnership with SEPTA, officials said today.

PATCO, which operates the 14-mile rail line between Lindenwold and Center City, wants to branch out in Philadelphia, extending service along Delaware Avenue and perhaps to City Hall. The agency is considering re-opening the long-closed Franklin Square Station at 6th and Race streets to serve as the hub of the new service.

Three proposed routes are under consideration, with a price tag of at least $1 billion. If federal approval and funding were forthcoming, completion of the lines might be 10 years off. PATCO officials said it might be possible for SEPTA to operate the service, if PATCO built it.
