No hidden pictures that I could find though. They must have realized what people were doing and just uploaded the ones they wanted to use on the Great Adventure site.

Good pics.

So who got snow? It's been snowing here for about 3 hours and it is coming down HARD. Hopefully it won't slow down Toro, but so far it seems like they have been doing a great job with the weather conditions.

This weekend was really strange.  I seriously thought a hurricane was roaring through (which I should know about after being in FL for Francis).  The wind was ripping through harder than I remember in recent memory for NJ.  I then wake up Sat to learn that we were in a tornado watch area   .

Then, Saturday night, the wind kicks up even more.  I could hear the ice pelting my windows.  We woke up for church early Sunday expecting to dig out, clear the cars, etc. and find almost NOTHING on the ground.  Just some ice on the grass and car windows (the sliding doors wouldn't open either) but the roads and walks were clear.

BUT, after driving up 295N for 10 miles to the haddonfield-berlin road exit for Church, I was completely shocked that the roads were completely covered and there was at least 4 inches on the ground.  The roads were solid ice.  You could barely drive on them.

This was a really strange and spotty storm.  Hopefully it didn't affect El Toros construction much and even better would be if Jackson was one of the spots like my town that didn't get hit at all!

The wind here in Jackson made everything very interesting. In my development, there was 4" some places, piles of ice elsewhere, and nothing other places.

I just hope the high winds didn't have any effect on the partially finished structure! <knocks on wood>

The wind gust were up to 50 mph. I cant believe there was 4 inches of snow  only 8 miles away when there was nothing outside my house except a dusting.
In any case, these guys get paid  pretty well and I don't see it effecting them that much since this storm happened over the weekend. They will just have to bundle up and wear more clothes.

Factor in the icing that took place at night. It was so weird. Hopefully no damage was done to El Toro.

5 trees fell in town.  But our snow was gone by morning.  We got less than an inch.

The weird thing.. i saw Narnia.. and when i walked out.. sure enough it was snowing.  I thought that was kind of cool.

Ocean City  however got about a half a foot.  I was down there today.  Interesting to see the snow covered boardwalk

Wow...when I got up on Sunday there was basically no snow left. Saturday night it was coming down pretty hard, but in the morning, there was barely anything there. Late Sunday, basically everything transformed to ice because of the rain over the past few days. Now, it is still pretty icy out, but most of the snow is gone. I was excepting a little more than that...

Jan. 19, 2006 The high winds and rain this week were definitely a challenge. We continued erection to bent 65 at the curve of the lift hill. We started erection at column lines 101 to 107 which runs parallel with the station pass the invert of the first drop. Foundation will continue through phase four and layout continues for phase five and six.

Foundation work for retail structures such as the ride photo building and merchandise kiosks will begin in the near future.

sounds like in a few days were going to see the completed turnaround.

Granted the winds have been awful around here, but at least it has been warm and dry for the most part.

Almost too warm. Comparing this to the tatsu constuction, it is behind. Then again Tatsu has many advantages over El Toro for construction. Wasn't this coaster suppose to be a plug-n-play? They need to plug their minds in and get this coaster to be playful. :(

Nice pics, but I don't really see much progress.

Well today I was looking at an article I cut out of a newspaper when ET was announced, and saw that Diana was in it. It was pretty crazy, lol :D

When they say bent erection, this means that most of the constructon happens on the ground.  WE saw a bent go vertical one day and it was asite to see.  Most roller coasters as we have explained.. go right up vertical.. but these a re erected from the ground because it is apparently easier this way.  We'll see bents 101-107 go up fast in the next few days bearing the weather.

the most important thing as i have stated.. footers are almot 100%

There's a new update--the usual two pictures and a journal entry--on the official site, which is labeled as Feb. 4th for some reason. I wish they'd show drop construction, though!
