"AUSTELL -- A 25-Year-Old painting contractor is in critical condition after an accident at Six Flags Over Georgia Monday. The painter was on a pontoon boat painting the pilings on the Ninja Roller Coaster when a railing on the boat gave way. That sent the worker into the icy pond.

A second worker on the boat jumped in the water to save him... that took about eight minutes. The painter was unresponsive after being pulled from the water. Paramedics rushed him to Grady Hospital where, at last check, he was in critical condition.

The pond was about six to eight feet in depth.

Neither worker has been identified. "

But the worker later died...

Terrible accident.

Very sad news. I say they take the ride out, it's a torture machine anyway.

I rode it last April and my knee still hurts.

I'm trying to think of the area beneath and why it would have taken so long to get him out.

Here is a pic from RCDB:

I'm guessing it won't be long until the water is gone and pavement is put up.
