The Dark Knight is Better?
« on: June 14, 2009, 10:45:38 PM »
Hi,
I went to Great Adventure today w/ my family and I noticed that the line for the Dark Knight was short, once again.  :o I went on, and I realized it was significantly different. First of all, the coaster was muchfaster. We didn't know if the accellerators were broken the first few times, of just the opposite; the brakes were taken out.  ^-^ Also, there were sound effects in the line. Finally, at the end of the ride, there is a surprise ending:
the illusion of a train almost hitting you!
We don't know if possibley Six Flags decided to improve it...   :)

TDK is scary now. I had to close my eyes at the end because I heard the train noise in the queue and was scared of it on the actual ride. TDK is better. I love it.

i go on it every visit since i love it. i noticed over the season several improvements, like the monitors in the queue started showing working, some attendents during the pre show make it bang. :) there are less hard braking stops/overall speed feels about 20-30 rather then 10, and the loud horn is new, i think a strobe light will be put in too from what i heard, it just wasn't working :) it's def getting better/scarier each change. just needs more stuff on the inside walls to fill space, it feels 15 feet away with nothing interesting going on, just makes the place feel empty. Some clowns attached to rope on the side that drop down when cars pass would be cool.

When I was on it last Monday I didn't see these things but I saw a change... When your going around one of the turns last year a clown fired  a rocket at you but this year they just stand there!?

The "new" effect's on TDK are pretty good. There is a Batsignal and the Subway car is pretty good, it not a "cheap effect" it does get a jump out of you if you are not expecting it. Everything new is on the "Brake Run", no other effect's have been added anywhere else.

The brake run is exactly where they needed something.  It was just empty down there.
I think you will notice a different reaction from people getting off the Dark Knight now.

Next time you go pay good attention to the speed of the ride. Also look out for a surprise at the end!

I don't know why lots of people were so dissapointed with that ride. Six Flags gave them all the details and told them that its just a dark indoor wild mouse with effects. I really like tdk.

A certain group of people believe that Six Flags should always gear their rides for a certain age demographic as they had for 20 years. The Dark Knight also implies thrill ride. The special effects could have been better, but their still would have been complaints over the layout.
Prepare to weather the storm!

I agree. The effects should be better but it is a "family ride" so they cant be too scary!

It should be darker inside, like skull mountain, you can't see anything.

Then what would be the point of the theming?
Peep the concept, you've got progress, you've got congress
We protest in hopes they confess, just proceed on your conquest
I ain't got no gavel, I ain't finna fight nobody battle
I just wanna be free, I ain't finna be nobody's chattel

When I saw the commercial I thought that it'd be really dark. I'm didappointed about that. It should be darker with little theming.

If by darker you mean limiting views of the ride until you are in front of the theming, then I agree because it adds that sense of surprise. But to completely eliminate any light is simply dumb.

Thats exacly what I mean, then its more surprising, and gets you to jump out of your seat.
