They are making it a section FULL of flat rides :)

Kidding, but honestly, I have no idea. I'm sure someone here has an idea.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

I was wondering the same thing, but that is a good idea. I believe what was going on is they closed it to maked room for the xploratorium, so they widened the path leading to it, and made Old Town's path smaller. Now that its finished, I think they're using it as a break area for the staff, but it can't be like that for ever? Mybe they have something up their sleeve...

That would be nice to see some flats go in over there and open that section back up. There is also plenty of vacant space where the chiller once sat for a more modern freefall ride :)

No that section is closed off to the public, you can see the old country sign in the back of the boneyard when riding nitro.

What's in there now is what was there before it closed.  Autobahn (which was barely ridden), Musik Express (also barely ridden), and two games (which were barely played).  The only difference between then and now is that the park declared it closed off instead of the guests declaring that they're barely interested.  Funny thing is, the lack of those two rides are a glaring hole in the collection but they were barely ridden when open.

But that was all due to the lack of traffic due to chiller hardly ever being open. It's like Golden Kingdom when ka is down - a ghost town.

I'd have to say that Balin's and Temple of the Tiger still held their own though with Ka down.  I'm sure a lot of Old Country had to do with Chiller, but it also had to do with the fact that it had no other draw.  IMO, Balin's gets lucky that Splashwater Oasis is there, or Ka being down probably would hurt it significantly.  I'd be willing to bet that if Showcase wasn't dark, and had a show good enough to draw people, that the OC would have survived without Chiller.

They should reopen that area as a park of movietown but get rid of movie and turn it into gothem city and rename old country's rides and re-theme the area.

Also if you work there can you ride them.

I still feel like the park has something up its sleeve with this section. Before the park opened last year some of us were teased with a big announcement that, well, never happened. And this was when we already knew about The Dark Knight. So unless it was the revamping of Medusa, which I doubt, there's still something being planned for somewhere that we don't know about.

Unless it got scrapped due to money issues :(

There are two big steel job boxes around the musik express area, anyone know what they are for, if you go into the cabanana area you will see them.

Old Country should keep the name Old Country. Do you remember when Viper was demolished but the station stayed...look what that brought us. Chiller was demolished and the station stayed...

If a coaster goes in that spot *cough*Euro Fighter*cough* (Sorry bad cold) that alone is enough to bring traffic back to Old Country. Add a nice German show with Cloggers to Showcase and you have one of the best sections in the park...Man! I would love that idea brought to life. The Euro Fighter could have an industrial look like Chiller's station already has. It be a well rounded section to with a coaster, 2 flats, and a show! Say hello, to the New Old Country in 2011! Someone send this idea to Mark Kane!!

Lack of traffic doesn't make sense, what about the year or so where Chiller was down and SMFF was missing?

I see a renovation coming...

I think what should be done is make a family roller coaster the spirals through and around a 'mountain'. This could go right where the tip of freefall used to be. If it was built right, it could attract attention from the parking lot and the crowds inside. It would be nicely themed too.

Are you talking about the Chiller station being redone for a new coaster? Not a chance. They just redid the entire observatory and the station. Also, the Dark Knight kind of puts it in a tight area, Eurofighter or not.
