The thing that makes me really mad is the way the city handled it. SF had just been thru a hostile takeover, they were filing for bankruptcy, and they were willing to give up the park to someone else, who likely could have purchased it on the cheap and put some money in and open it back up, but the city didn't want SF to leave the lease, when they obviously couldn't afford to pour money into a park that wasn't going to make a lot of money.
What's even sadder is that New Orleans isn't back on it's feet after 5 years. It's sadder that there are still people that don't have a home, than it is that the park is still closed, but overall it's a terrible situation.
