Memorial Day Weekend Plans...
« on: April 25, 2006, 03:22:51 PM »
I know Memorial Day is usually a big weekend, and the parks can get a little crowded, but I was just wondering what everyone's plans were for the weekend.

As of now, I will be heading up to SFNE Thursday night and spending the day at the park on Friday (10-8 hours) and getting a Gold Q-bot/Flasher. Thank god for those things, that park would be a nightmare without it on a holiday weekend!

Saturday will be Lake Compounce to relax and get some rides on Boulder Dash and maybe evern some of the water park...

I think George (innervision) will be going, Chuck said he may make an apperance at SFNE, and my friend Dave might go as well...

My back-up plan is Holiwood Nights (which is HIGHLY unlikely at this point)

What are all of your plans ?

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

We are going to Vegas, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.

We don't usually take the kids to Vegas with us ... but this is a family trip .. which means staying at ... bleh ... Circus Circus.

I am hoping to come up to SFNE and I also am hoping El Toro opens up. But if not, I might just hang out home and go to Seaside or something.

Rich and I are going to head to the WNYCC event at Great Escape on Saturday and LaRonde on Sunday.  The price is good and we get ERT on Comet at GE and Goliath and LeMonstre at LaRonde.

I stayed there one night while in Vegas... the rooms are actually pretty nice, but I haven't stayed anywhere to compare it to... The casino looked kind of boring and bland and the park inside the hotel was the saving grace. Hope you have a good time.

How far away are the parks from Southern Jersey (driving time) ERT on Goliath sounds pretty good. I've never been to GE yet either and am really wanting to try out The Comet. Is it really as good as everyone makes it out to be??

The Comet is a wonderfully smooth, gliding wood coaster, full of soft, gentle, sustained airtime.

It's one of my favorites.

My guess for driving time from south Jersey would be 4/5-5 hours to Great Escape and then about 2.5 hours more for LaRonde.

If you decide to go, Quality Inn in Plattsburgh, NY is only $45 a night right now.  We're staying there Saturday and Sunday nights.
