From a email:We're getting ready to celebrate 100 years of family fun at HERSHEYPARK in 2007! We are announcing exciting news about the celebration on Wednesday, July 12! As a HERSHEYPARK "sweetmail" subscriber, you will be one of the first to find out ! Stay tuned...

On the web site on the sweetmail registration page it says:
On Wednesday, July 12th, a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT will be made regarding a COLOSSAL NEW attraction for 2007

I knew it all along, Hershey is building an awsome coaster of some kind, even better then Storm Runner, the question is it a coaster (It probably will be) and if it is, which kind!

Don't hold me to this, but I'm pretty sure it won't be a coaster this year, but something that will help keep the lines down

^ hold on, Remember the water slide additions mention a long time ago.

Future Rides
Future plans for Hersheypark remain closely guarded secrets of the company. Several plans have been released: usually to promote the park for the following season. Another reason is because approval must be given by Derry Township, Dauphin County, PA to build other rides in the park. Sunshine laws apply to township meetings.

Hersheypark 2007 - plans for water-play device, three pools, a waterslide, a water playground and a fountain, in Midway America, as well as the moving of one other ride. [1]
Hersheypark has not released any details beyond the 2007 season. Anything beyond 2007 must be considered rumors. However a number of rides in the park are growing older and are starting to show their age. Rides such as Coal Cracker, Flying Falcon, Monorail and Kissing Tower likely will have to undergo renovations or be replaced in the coming years.

^Very good point Bubba, but remember, they have been looking to get a coaster in there for 06. I think it was called Turbulance that got cancelled so that means they are one year overdue for a new roller coaster. It also sounds like they are trying to make space for something other then the water park...Maybe I am jumping to conclusions, but I am sold that part of this expansion is a roller coaster. They have a pattern and they stick to it usually, if I had to guess what coaster, thats if i really had to, I would take a shot in the dark and say an Intamin Hyper, something like S:RoS. IMO Its a hyper of SOME kind, if not a hyper then a flyer or a floorless

At 100 years the ride should be a big addition to the park ?

^100 Years is one century, which is a very long time, I mean we got Kingda Ka for Six Flags 44th aniversary so yeah, It wouldnt surprise me if it is an AWSOME, massive, ground shattering coaster and if it breaks a record of some kind

Water Park was the very first thing I thought of. Plus, its been mentioned time and time again. Now I wonder if it will be in the old Bears stadium like they had discussed doing before?

A waterpark is a pretty safe guess I bet. Hershey is pretty boxed in right now anyway, so I wouldn't reallly see a hyper getting added any time soon.

Colossal? That better be a coaster.

I doubt it though and I'm really dissapointed. Water play area is nice, but 100 years! That is an anniversary, not 45!

I was there on monday before the big floods hit. There is larger area in between Tidal Force and lightning racer. They are building a large bathroom/ changing area (hint towards water park expansion) and there is no doubt that the area set aside is for water slides. The pile ons are set as well as large stacks of water slide material right outside the local gas station. The weird thing is that all the materials for the actual ride lay outside the gated facility marking the grounds that hershey owns. Meaning that all ride materials lay outside the hershey property, kinda weird.

Not all the materials are outside - if you ride LR you can see that some parts (including tubing) are inside the fence.

^But Colossal could mean a complete water park being added. That is a big task to pull off. Only 11 more days until we find out.

I was at Hersheypark on Sunday and there is a LOT of work going on. The water park will cover the entire area from the Wild Mouse down to Roller Soaker. Yes, there are water park pieces by LR, but there are also tons of pieces for tubes in what I believe is the employee parking lot, which are visible from Wildcat. However, since construction has started extremely early, I think Hershey also has another dry attraction for next year, possibly a new flat or something. I doubt a coaster will be coming next year unfortunately, but I can see one in the years to come..

When we were there last year we did see some markers up by the Gardens. We joked about it at the time but maybe a coaster from the park, up the hill to the gardens and back.

That will be a nice addition to the park, I wish they would built some master blasters though
