First Trip to Clementon
« on: August 14, 2006, 02:21:14 AM »
Well due to the suggestion of Chuck over there, I am interested in taking a trip down to Clementon one day with my girlfriend. Is there anything I need to know or any tips that would come in handy?

Lots and lots of pain killer LOL

Well, be sure to take the train ride for the best view of the "real" Jack Rabbit.  You may also want to take a spin on the excellent Falling Star and maybe even Chaos if you are willing to "chance" it ;).  I think its one of the few still operating.  The log flume is rather unique as well since it uses the lake water and is situated over the lake as well.

I wouldn't worry too much about a line on J2.  It almost never has one because the crowds this park attracts can't really handle it :(.

What about the water park? I see they have some racer slides. I cannot wait to test my luck on those. :D

I'm planning on going to the water park during the day. Hopefully it wont be too cold. And then in the afternoon/night, I will head on over to the park and get on some of the rides. Do you think AAA has some discounts for the park?

How much is parking as well?

Call the park to make sure they will be open.
Some days are for private parties only.
They offer discount coupons at WAWA also find them on the webpage below.
www.clementonpark.com/coupons_thankyou.html
not a bad price $8 off and only $11.99 after 5pm etc.

You need to ride J2 a few times to get used to it like knowing when to lean into the turns etc.
It gets better the more you ride it.
The front seat is the smoothest.
Free parking
Call the park ahead of time

Well it seems that my Clementon trip has been postponed and probably wont happen this year. I will get down there eventually. I'm planning a Pt. Pleasant/Sea Side trip instead.

I don't want to be Mr. Negativity, but one never knows when Clementon will close for the last time...I wouldn't necessarily assume it will be there next year.

/\  Very Very good point.  CLP is still on the market after many years of no takers.  Its only a matter of time though before this happens.  That isn't to say it woudln't continue as a amusement park but the odds are definately against it.  The land would likely make more money with houses or condos on it :(.

I'd get to Clementon this year before it is no longer a option.

Yep...I didn't ride the Shoot the Chutes at Waldameer the first time I visited, knowing I could get it the next year.

And the next year, it was a new and very popular flume.  Sigh.
