Hey folks

I just finished updating http://www.ace-newjersey.org While not always the cutting edge in news like I get from this site :) We have great info on the Great Nor' Easter in Wildwood. We also have a firm date for Coaster Celebration at GA.
I added some photos from the Discovery Channel Kingda Ka shoot.

Bret I like that Wildwood will be in the Middle of July (will be there)
ALso like this below:

ACE Day at Six Flags Great Adventure???

At this year's ACE Preservation Con, the park announced that they were considering hosting 2 enthusiast events in 2008. We are in the VERY preliminary stages of working out an event to be exclusive to ACE members and their guests that will concentrate very heavily on the top rated El Toro wood coaster and possibly some ERT on the new Dark Knight Coaster. We are looking at late summer or early fall for this one. More info to follow.

Don't worry We have enough ACE members on this board to bring enough guests that aren't ACE members   :P  but Wade always has his connections also ;)

It looks great Bret. I look forward to Coastin' by the Ocean in 2008. This year's event was one of the highlights of the season for me. I heard great things about Preservation Day at GA this year.
Prepare to weather the storm!

I'd have to say you guys are doing a great Job. I'm not in ACE because I always thought the reps here in Jersey never really did anything. Now that I have  actually meet you three times  ( El Toro ..Running of the Bulls , Casino Pier, Ka shoot)  and you look like you care about things , I might think about joining?

Bret's fantastic, and the events sound great.  Hopefully, he'll remind us here, so those of us who live in Outer Bumbershoot can make plans to attend! :)

Its really great to see ACE and Great Adventure getting together on things.  We have sitting in this state one of the greatest theme parks in the country with some of the best coasters in the country.

Between the willingness of Gadv's staff to be invovled and the enthusiasm of NJ ACE, we should be seeing some cool stuff down the road :).

I know they'll have another member in me in the coming year.  As soon as I get through Christmas ;) lol

I agree
Great Adventure may have one of the best coaster collections next to CP.
And in this NJ area we live in may have the best coaster collection in the world within a few hours drive  ;D

I also look forward to other NJ events such as
Moreys/Wildwood
Clementon
etc.
should be fun

Cedar Point, Maple Grove.

For me, Great Adventure offers a FAR better collection of coasters than that place.

Even without Chiller.

Sigh.

Hey all, thanks so much for the positive feedback. Bret and I are thrilled to be working as reps for ACE in NJ and we're working to make this region one of the best in the country. Our dealings with SFGAd and Morey's have been particularly great and they're both very receptive to our ideas and thoughts on their events. In addition, we'll be in contact with the new ownership at Clementon to bring an event back there and I will be looking to put together an ACE Day at one or two of the other shore piers (like Casino in '07) like in Ocean City or Atlantic City. While they don't offer the biggest coaster collections in the world, maybe we can work out some great pricing or other perks.

To keep it on topic with SFGAd, I've been working with Dory to create a Coaster Celebration event incorporating some of the features of the past that made CC one of the best events of the year like the scavenger hunt and behind-the-scenes photo tours. I know that the late Steve U. worked extensively with the park to make that happen and we wish to follow in his footsteps. The ACE event we're hoping to have in the fall has a definite direction we'd like to go in. While the park has an excellent collection of world class coasters for ERT, our goal is to create a Holiwood Nights style event that will focus on El Toro. I'd love to have 2 hours of night ERT or more, maybe supplemented by a racing Rolling Thunder. And since Dark Knight Coaster will be new, we'll try to negotiate some time for that too. I believe CC and ACE Day should be pretty different from each other so both events draw a good crowd.

If you guys have any questions or suggestions on what you'd like to see happen in '08 in regards to events, etc, please feel free to e-mail me (arevesz@aceonline.org) or Bret (bulozas@aceonline.org). Bret has been a great presence at these events and photo shoots and I'm hoping to make myself more known to everyone in 2008 (I did attend ACE Day at Casino Pier and ACE Pres Con). Thanks again!

I have an ACE question I was going to apply to give it to my family as a Christmas gift. I want to join as a family it says $85 plus $5 for each family member . So if I am reading it right that would be $105 for the year?

Also we are in SI NY so will we be with you guys or will we have to be with a group from here ??

Thanks for the info :)

Wow.  Adam!  ACE NJ just keeps getting better and better.  And to honor the memory of Steve U with an improved Coaster Celebration.  He'd be ecstatic.  I so wish he could have lived to see El Toro in the park he loved so much.
