Flying
« on: December 15, 2008, 01:40:47 PM »
Alright so the reason I've been gone so much lately is because im going to school to be a pilot. I'm almost at the point of getting my private license then get to start working on my commercial and instrument ones.

Anyone else here a pilot, its definitely one of the most amazing things Ive ever done, just being in control of something that can fly is so much fun.

Just got done planning a night trip to Millville and Wilmington,  but the weather does not look like its going to cooperate till Saturday. What else is new.

I had a neighbor that had a small plane  4 seater
He would take me and my friends up
he let me fly it from Atlantic city to NY city

he said you think freefall is cool check this out
and he pushed the yoke forward and we dropped like a rock.
Very cool.
We used to do touch and goes at Cape May and other air strips.
We once stopped in Monmouth and another in Chesapeake to get some food.
Just fly in and the restaurant was right there.

He used to keep it at Albion in S jersey  then moved it to Cross Keys.

He learned to fly after he used to go up for $45 as a passenger and the pilot said for the same price you can get lessons. After 12 hours of traing he got his pilot license .
There's nothing like flying in a small plane

My dad was a pilot years ago, but stopped doing it, because it's so expensive. I got to fly the plane for a while once. I didn't like it. Way too touchy. I like feeling the road in a car.

I plan on getting it when I get out of the Air Force. Good old GI Bill will pay for it as well!
